...Bloody well feels like 10,000 days since their last album at any rate....

Bloody amazing stuff - really complex song-structures, elaborate poly-rhythmic drumming, songs which last over 8 minutes, blinding guitar pyrotechnics, basslines which would have Flea and Steve Harris scratching their heads wondering how the fukk they were done, and above it all, the incredible, soaring voice of Maynard James Keenan - contender for best male vocalist in a Metal band, ever.

But to call Tool a mere 'Metal' band, is a bit like saying The Beatles were a pretty catchy beat combo....

People compare Tool to Pink Floyd, that's a pretty good comparison, but Tool have none of the negatives of Floyd and all the positives, and even more to boot. They have re-established their undoubted, unarguable supremacy over all other bands in the world, who just seem like mere mortals in comparison.

Tool are Gods....

Knew that would get a rise outta you..... :P I really rate Harris, but I reckon even he would have problems with some of Justin Chandellor's bass licks - some seriously intricate, technical sh!t.... It really is amazing how Tool manage to have the best of both worlds - being incredibly intricate and technical, yet never sounding like they're wanky or just showing off for the sake of it...

well my friend has the album so i might borrow it off him.

bet he couldn't play his riffs while running around like a madman though :P

I've never liked Tool, but I read an interesting review of this and ended up buying it... and it's great.
