Posted November 15, 200717 yr Leona Lewis is one of the most talked about diva's at the moment (apart from Britney), So instead of creating hundreds of pointless news topics, I reckon it'll be easier and look better for the forum keeping all "less-important" news in one thread. If the mods don't like this, then just delete.
November 15, 200717 yr Author LEONA LEWIS: Viva the unlikely diva The Times November 15, 2007 Some are born divas, others have divadom thrust upon them. In the former category: Beyoncé, Céline Dion, Mariah Carey. In the latter: Leona Lewis, an ever-so-slightly still gawky 22-year-old former Pizza Hut waitress from Hackney. Leona, who has not so much as embellished her name with an unnecessary French accent since Simon Cowell et al pronounced her the winner of last year’s The X Factor, is on course to break the record for Britain’s fastest-selling debut album. The album goes by the relatively modest title of Spirit. Already by Monday it had sold 130,000 copies. If it goes on to sell 200,00 copies by the weekend – very probable, say the pundits at HMV – Leona Lewis will have broken the record. So the girl has been propelled from wiping up the remnants of other people’s triple cheesy bites to international stardom. She spends her time travelling the world. She can be spotted in the video to her No 1 single, Bleeding Heart, in the footsteps of the R’n’B greats, braving a gale-force 12 wind machine. In America, where she has signed a £5 million deal on top of her £1 million X Factor contract, she’s been working with the music mogul Clive Davis, who discovered Whitney Houston. There is even talk of a Lewis and Houston duet in the pipe-line. What does this diva-in-the-making make of it all? On Los Angeles: “Most evenings I found myself alone in my hotel room watching the telly.” (She was lonely and missed her boyfriend, who is an electrician). On the beach outside her hotel: “Having a beach next door to my hotel apartment in LA was lovely. At my mum’s house, we have a cemetery.” On shooting pop videos: “The director wanted me to be sexy, but because I had the flu, it was hard being sultry.” Lewis’s mother Maria, half-Italian, half-Irish, was a ballet teacher, while her Guyanese father DJed part-time. One of her brothers, Bradley, 26, is an editor at MTV. The other, Kyle, 21, is a mechanic. Lewis on Kyle: “My younger brother did go to Sylvia Young [theatre school], but there was no football pitch, so he didn’t stay.” On her worst interview: “Hmm. I had one woman who was not very nice. She just read a list of questions like, ‘What’s the worst present you’ve ever had?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know, it’s the thought that counts’.” And, finally, during an exchange in which the interviewer asked Lewis whether there was anywhere she’d like to go in LA: lunch at the Ivy? Shopping in Rodeo Drive? “If you wouldn’t mind,” she said. “I’d like to come and visit your cats. I love animals.” One feels for Lewis. The pressure of fame. And one feels for all the not-very-nice women in the future who are sent to turn this teetotal, vegetarian ingénue in to a more newsworthy kind of star.
November 15, 200717 yr Aww, sounds fair enough. I thought it would draw in more people to have them out, instead having to scroll through loads to find what you are looking for.
November 15, 200717 yr Author That made me laugh. It's just about saying how 'un-diva-ish' she is.
November 15, 200717 yr Author Aww, sounds fair enough. I thought it would draw in more people to have them out, instead having to scroll through loads to find what you are looking for. I got the idea from the Robbie Forum, they just post a few news articals all together in one thread, and important ones (i.e. Duet wth Sean, Jamelia) are just posted normally, if that makes sense?
November 15, 200717 yr Oh I see, so more serious ones? Yeah that does make sense, good thinking batman :P
November 15, 200717 yr She can be spotted in the video to her No 1 single, Bleeding Heart, in the footsteps of the R’n’B greats, braving a gale-force 12 wind machine. I see the journalist is a big fan of Leona then.

Parker was so impressed by the X Factor winner's fashion shoot in Harpers Bazaar magazine, she asked to wear the Vivienne Westwood in the upcoming Sex & the City movie. Lewis says, "I wore a fabulous Vivienne Westwood dress for part of the shoot and it's actually the one Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing for her Sex and the City wedding." The 22-year-old also lent the $200,000 (£100,000) Dolce and Gabbana crystal dress from her video for her new track Bleeding Love to style icon Beckham. The Spice Girl wears the dress for the band's video for comeback Headlines.
