I have to figure out:

how and why english has become a dominant international languag. Areas of particular interest are:

* who uses English as an international means of communcation

* the areas in which English is used, in everyday situations and in working life

* how literary texts (novels, plays, short stories, poetry, song lyrics) and films differ according to where in the world they have been produced
