the vocal nuances

That's what pisses me off most about 2 Hearts because it's so desperate.

I feel the opposite.... I like Black Cherry in parts, I hated Siupernature apart from Ride a White Horse..... but Felt Mountain is their opus IMO.... Lovely Head (rudest song ever?), Utopia, Deer Stop (my fave) and Human are all..... incredible.

You've just listed all my favourite songs from Felt Mountain (well... almost, my favourite track still remains Paper Bag. And yes I noticed that some of their lyrics are quite racy!)

Although i loved Supernature, as people have pointed out it was perhaps a little too contemporary and "glam" for their own good, they should have stuck to the experimental electro sound from Black Cherry (still my fave Goldfrapp album)

I'm thrilled their new album's out so soon, haven't checked their site in months and assumed we woudln't hear anything till next year. Still to hear A+E though, can't seem to find it anywhere!

(by the way - have a listen to the Kish Mauve original of this new 'Kylie' single.... you'll be surprised) :o ;)

Shameless as that was, it's never been kept under wraps as some kind of secret. Stupid single choice on her behalf though.

As for Supernature being 'glam', it was hardly over-the-top, and not all that different from Seventh Tree in parts. A lot of it was synthy and smooth mid-tempo kind of numbers; there wasn't much along the lines of Ooh La La.

This album is heaven.   Every track would be a great choice for a single! This album is so Radio 2 friendly, it'll be massive!
Would anyone be willing to send me A&E? (pretty pretty please?) I've been looking everywhere for it but to no avail, I'd be ever so grateful!
I am loving the new album... quality and just amazing...one of my favourites of the week.
I'm thinking now that they should've launched with Caravan Girl, with this as 2nd single. That song is way more commercial, and although it's nice that they're not trying specifically for radio play, they'll need sales all the same.
but when that 'snipping' becomes unadulterated, unashamed butchery of somebody else's art - as Kylie has so horribly done with '2 Hearts' - then you cannot not mention that Kylie isn't just being influenced by Goldfrapp, and taking bits of their stuff to enhance hers - but blatantly ripping them off.... from the vocal nuances to the artwork to the video... Christ, even down to the hair... it's Goldfrapp. And that's not casually nicking a bit of a 'cool reference' point - that's nothing short of plagiarism.

Spot on.. It really pisses me off when pop stars come along and nick bits and pieces from the less commercial, more hip ends of electronic/dance music and just totally sterilize them It aint just Kylie though, a whole load of commercial "dance" (read "pop") acts have been pilfering stuff off the likes of Ladytron, Goldfrapp, Client, et al....

Always gone on though innit...? Think back to the likes of 2 Unlimited and their completely joke, dreadful "Techno/House" muzak. Not that anyone back in the day would even dignify the likes of 2 Untalented by describing them as Dance music....

because the 'Dance' area on this site is an embarrassment.... it's sunk to new low levels of being nothing more than an area where pop fans can discuss the merits of the new Cascada single or the depth and breadth of the latest Bootyluv release..... quality music like Goldfrapp would be lost in such a pile of sludge.

Yep, pretty much how I feel about it, hence the reason why I barely even go on the Dance section nowadays... I just wonder what the hell the point of a "Dance" forum is, just about everything they discuss on that forum could be easily described as "Pop" and discussed in the relevant forum....

I'm taking this back. Just listened to A&E again and it really one of their best.

Ive still not heard this... dont suppose anyone would like to send it to me :)

I have all three albums and like them all. Pretty much equally too. I do appreciate how good Felt Mountain is but I'd say it was possibly my least favourite of the three...
Standout tracks for me were 'A&E' and 'Clowns', but the whole album overall was pretty good imo. ^_^ Totally different to what we've been used to from them though.

yeah man, you are so totally right. (vengaboys moved to dance   , arent we talking bravo, popcorn, smash hits type coverage here rather than dj and mixmag) and cascada too, which is pop too as it is chart/single/radio/album formats that people will be intersted in than the point of remixes etc etc

tho it was good to see both dannii and kylie being discribed as disco singers in todays mail on sunday
