No keen on facebook....I only joined to get messages and photos from a friend who moved to Phoenix

My son is on Facebook but I worry about how secure all these 'chat' sites are!!! I'm afraid I haven't got the time or inclination to 'sign up' to any of them - I wouldn't have a clue what to do anyway!!! :???:  It's nice to have all these sites of D's to check out though! :D

I'm on facebook anyway so have become a fan. I joined so I could see what my daughters get up to.

just got a new blog on myspace..all it said was about being now on facebook, was a tad idsappointed - I still havent had time or inclination to registeron facebook, like megham I only really pop into the others to listen to music or glance at the comments.

I am just anti social I suppose, not into all this online "friends" and leaving comments around etc - I leave that to my kids

I don't actually do anything much on any of these sites - I simply don't have the time, but I do have them and read what's going on occasionally.

I'm just old fashioned. If I can do anything personally, that's the way I do it. Next come telephone and letter writing and then e-mail.

I've always preferred shopping personally. I was never into mail order. I only shop online if I really want something and can't source it any other way. I do, however, compare prices and check out retailers etc. but then I phone a branch and if one of the other local branches has it, I go there. I'm happy with that compromise.

I'm not interested in collecting "friends" on sites like myspace, bebo, facebook and I can't imagine how long I'd have to be online each day to keep them up. They're not my scene at all.

I email rather than write, buy online as often as not but, I just can't be bothered with another friends site.

If you are old fashioned B.T., then I am too. I never shop online, and I seem to be one of the minority who

much prefer letters to emails. I find it difficult to understand any affinity that can exist between dozens of

'friends' on myspace and the others when there is very little common ground except the 'joy' of being

accepted on a celebrity's web page. I dare bet that the celebrities rarely find time to read the comments;

in fact I am convinced that most of those pages are 'managed' on their behalf. I only decided to join this

forum after reading the posts for many months, till I felt comfortable with the few regular posters. But on

myspace, bebo and facebook there are hundreds of 'friends', and the regular posters are few and far between.

I much prefer emailing to phoning and letter writing. I buy quite a bit online and used to do food shopping online for my mother-in=law.

I love the internet.

I keep clicking on the Darius adverts at the bottom. Yahoo wouldn't let me plat 30 secs of his tracks though

Emailing always seems so cold and impersonal to me. And as to online shopping, I tried Tesco once.....

in the time it took to wade through all the items to find what I wanted I could have driven to our local

Tesco and been back.

I also never shop on line. Too complicated and as for booking accommodation on line, it might be cheaper BUT it drives me mad because they always want to know first when you want to go etc etc when all I want to know is HOW much. I usually finish up booking over the phone.

I don't find email cold and impersonal especially if you have a lot of conversations with the person you are emailing. In fact it is warmer and more instant than a letter and you aren't dependent on snail mail.

I booked our holiday to Dublin in the summer all online - flights and accommodation. The other day I bought a new printer online and I go on about five or six different message boards.

I hate using the telephone.

I hate using the telephone to get through to those "if you da da da etc., push 1" sites and it takes about 5 minutes to get anywhere near speaking to anybody who might just be able to give you the answer you need.
I hate call centres - but I hate customer service on internet site where you cannot get an answer to a complaint or question. They just lead you round in circles. I could get so annoyed, I may break the keyboard - if it hadn't already been faulty.
It happened to me this morning - 2 rounds of if you want to etc., before I had to wait in the queue for a customer service rep to clarify one thing - but no I'd then to phone a freephone number. My conversation was me asking one question and the rep saying yes I'd got it right. I doubt if the actual speaking time was more than 30 seconds.
