Guns N' Roses are to play a London warm up show for the Download festival.

 

The band will play the Hammersmith Apollo, where they appeared as part of the Appetite For Destruction tour in 1987, on June 7, ahead of their headline appearance at the Download Festival on June 11. Avenged Sevenfold will support.

 

In addition, Download is offering the chance for one band to appear at the festival in collaboration with MySpace. Contestant should send their MySpace band profile to downloadfestival@myspace.com.

 

Five finalists will be selected and put to the public vote and the winning band will open the Gibson Guitar / MySpace stage on June 9.
