Announcement

After much deliberation, the Kopeček broadcaster IBK have selected Jordin Sparks to represent Kopečka at the inaugural BJSC with Tattoo.

Other contenders included Serebro, Shiny Toy Guns, Elena Paparizou and Colbie Caillat.

Reaction

In a tense finale which went down to the final vote, Mdiče triumphed over Kopečka to win the inaugural BuzzJack Song Contest with Britney Spears singing 'And Then We Kiss', finishing with 104 points. Jordin still gave Kopečka a good result, finishing 3rd (a point behind 2nd placed Faztickle) with 'Tattoo'. The contest, hosted by Bokia, was an eventful affair, with controversies ranging from a 'wardrobe malfunction' from the Ibizan representative Cher to allegations of vote swapping due to an early press release during the contest from Charisma, thanking Scassoorain for the points they gave to Charisma before their votes had been announced, having already given Scassoorain 12 points. Vote swapping allegations aside, for a while it looked as if nothing could stop Mdiče from claiming victory in the first contest, before Kopečka overtook mid-way through, only to be displaced by surprise contenders Bhangra (with a song many bookmakers had judged 'too old-fashioned' for the contest) and Phlumptopia (with 'Coffee', a cheese-laden pop extravaganza). In the end though it looked to be a straight fight between Jordin and Britney, before Faztickle sneaked into 2nd place in the penultimate vote. With all eyes on Scassoorain, the tension was obvious amongst the crowd as each vote that didn't go to any of the top three announced was greeted with a chorus of gasps and howls, drawing all the way to the final 12 which was awarded to Londonski, leaving the top 3 in exactly the same position as it had been left in the prior vote to the audience's surprise. A clearly emotional Britney was rushed back on stage in order to give a final rendition of her winning song and to accept the trophy, where she tearfully thanked BuzzJack, her parents and her fans. Britney's victory means that next month's contest will be hosted in Vartza, and plans are already being drawn up by the host nation to build a multi-million dičar stadium especially for the contest. Meanwhile in Kopečka, Jordin has rocketed to #1 with the highest sales of the year with Tattoo, and the President has personally congratulated Jordin for her success and thanked her for giving Kopečka a respectable result. With qualification for next month's final guaranteed speculation is already hotting up regarding Kopečka's representative in Vartza, with names such as Vanessa Williams, OneRepublic and Serebro in the frame. IBK have announced that the selection for next month's contest will again be an internal one.

Flag Change

The Kopeček President has announced a change of flag in order to reflect the recent changes and modernisation of Kopečka after the coup which removed the Communist Party from power four years ago. The new flag will still retain the traditional Vergina Sun of Kopečka, but will use pan-Slavic colours as well as the five-point star which adorns the government building, Zagorastačekause.

Selection

After much speculation, the IBK internal selection committee has whittled down 300 applications to represent Kopečka at the December contest to 4 competitors: Vanessa Williams, Stefy, Elena Paparizou and Serebro. Early indications that Jordin Sparks would return for the second edition of the contest were dismissed by her agent who claimed that although the singer was 'ecstatic' with her success with Kopečka, she was currently on a rest period due to exhaustion and believes it 'too soon' to return to the BJSC, although she hasn't ruled out returning to represent Kopečka at a future contest. Leading Kopeček bookmakers have placed Vanessa Williams favourites to represent Kopečka at the December edition on odds of 11/2, with Stefy and Elena Paparizou close competitors on odds of 7/1 and 22/3 respectively.

Selection News

Serebro have withdrawn from the Kopeček internal selection due to a sudden outbreak of flu, and will therefore be replaced by the next best candidates, The Veronicas.

Song Announcement

The Kopeček internal selection committee have announced the songs currently competing to represent Kopečka for the 2nd Buzzjack Song Contest.

Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last

Stefy - Chelsea

Elena Paparizou - Gigolo

Serebro - Song #3 (What's Your Problem (POSTPONED DUE TO ILLNESS)

The Veronicas - Hook Me Up

The decision will be made on the 8th of December.

Representative announcement

In a very tight decision in which all four contestants were only separated by 9 points at the close, Vanessa Williams won the right to represent Kopečka at the 2nd BuzzJack Song Contest. The decision was met with a small scale riot in the hall as the committee split into two camps, one side arguing for Vanessa Williams and the other for runners-up Stefy, who missed out by one point amidst allegations that the voting system had failed for several members of the committee. Eventually the dispute was settled by the chairman of IBK, who declared that Vanessa would be sent for this contest but that Stefy would receive an automatic bye to the finals of the next selection. Due to this, Stefy are currently odds-on to represent Kopečka at the 3rd BJSC, although for the moment all eyes are on Vanessa, and despite the tough competition facing her a bad result won't be greeted too well after tonight's result.

Reaction

In the 2nd final of the BuzzJack Song Contest, the result again went down to the final 12, however this time Kopečka weren't involved in it, finishing further down the table in 11th place with 80 points - a result which has earned Vanessa Williams the ire of many in the Kopeček internal selection committee who had campaigned for Stefy's entry. In response to this Vanessa's agent pointed out the closeness of the results, claiming that had Vanessa received only 25 more points she would've won. Given the experimental nature of this month's competition, with strong allegations of a semi-finalist bias (despite a prequalified country winning), it is unlikely that Vanessa's failure to achieve prequalification for next month's contest in Bokia is any fault of her own. Indeed, some have already claimed that Vanessa's failure to automatically qualify for next month's contest may give IBK an advantage in the final result, with insider information in IBK claiming that the board are confident that their next entry will make it through the semi-final, possibly suggesting that IBK may already have an entrant in mind. Speculation over artists who will compete to represent Kopečka is rife, with Stefy being the most obvious contenders, although rumours that Jordin Sparks may return have as yet neither been confirmed or denied. IBK have again confirmed that the selection process for the 3rd contest will be internal.

Flag Change

The Kopeček President has announced another flag change after the infamous usage of the current flag as a banner for far-right protesters in rallies in Zagorasta campaigning against the rising levels of immigration in the capital, with the new flag incorporating the image of the country and the traditional Kopeček symbol of the Vergina Sun, both united by the blue star band with the 7 stars representing the 7 major ethnic groups in Kopečka. The announcement has brought an end to the recent cause celebré of the usage of the flag, although it has raised questions as to how expendable the national symbol of the flag is if it can be changed with such ease. The President has responded to these questions guaranteeing the usage for the flag for the next 10 years.

Announcement

Kopeček bookies have been left stunned after the shock announcement that Jordin Sparks will be returning to represent Kopečka at the 3rd BuzzJack Song Contest, after wide speculation that Stefy, the close runners-up of the 2nd National Final last month, would represent the country. Jordin will be singing Freeze, a fan favourite from her self-titled album, and has expressed joy at being allowed to represent Kopečka again after her debut in the first contest secured Kopečka 3rd place. Stefy have declined to comment, although industry rumblings indicate that a deal has been made in exchange for their silence due to the widespread popularity of Stefy within Kopečka, with speculation rife that this deal may possibly be one which guarantees Stefy a place at next month's contest. These rumours have been fuelled by a confirmation by IBK that there will not be a traditional announcement of choices for next month's contest, rather a direct choice and presentation of the song.

Result

Kopečka has been left stunned after Jordin's 19th place finish in Bokia with a meagre 31 points. Bookmakers had placed her favourite to win in the weeks leading up to the contest, and there have been allegations of vote rigging. Jordin's manager claims that in addition to this, the lack of countries in the third contest compared with the second one 'didn't give [Jordin] the fan support abroad that she was relying on for a good result. The contest was won by a stunning performance by the Dixie Chicks, care of Bhangra, where the contest will be held next month.

Announcement

After several attempts to represent Kopečka at the BuzzJack Song Contest, tonight the Kopeček internal selection committee announced that Stefy will represent Kopečka at the 4th BuzzJack Song Contest with Chelsea. Many Kopečekers are collecting massive payouts from national bookmakers who were dreading the announcement, and had stopped taking bets four days prior to the announcement due to the near certainty of Stefy's selection. The news has been greeted with joy by Stefy, who have promised to 'bring Kopečka joy' in the contest once again.

Result

Kopečka celebrated its second top three finish tonight as Stefy finished third on 87 points with Chelsea, behind FSR Rontvia who won the contest with Sara Bareilles' Love Song. Once again, the contest went down to the final vote, although unfortunately the result didn't go Kopečka's way. Stefy also spoiled their record somewhat by publically bashing Vanessa Williams and Jordin Sparks in the post-contest press conference, claiming that the Kopeček internal selection committee 'wouldn't know a contest winning song if it smacked them in the face' and that they were 'clearly the best choices, even back in the 2nd contest'. The internal selection committee have declined to comment, although insider sources claim that the committee is unimpressed with Stefy's remarks and that Jordin and Vanessa only suffered due to better competition in previous contests. Already, with the 4th contest only just over, the focus has turned to who will represent Kopečka in the 5th contest in Rontvia, with speculation rife that Elena Paparizou, who came third in the 2nd BJSC internal selection, may attempt to represent Kopečka again.

Choice Announcement

After some consideration, the Kopecek internal selection committee have decided to choose between three contestants to represent Kopecka at the 5th BuzzJack Song Contest: Elena Paparizou with Gigolo; Hilary Duff with With Love; and Cyndi Almouzni with Born Again. Leading Kopecek bookmakers and industry insiders have backed Elena to win (with odds of 5/2 on her), although have stated that Cyndi could be the dark horse in this contest on odds of 5/1. Few are backing Hilary Duff for this contest, although there have been murmurs that if she does not represent Kopecka in this contest she is likely to attempt again in the future.

Hilary Knocked Out

The Kopeček internal selection committee have announced that Hilary Duff has finished in 3rd place in their selection for the artist who will represent Kopečka in the upcoming BuzzJack Song Contest. Cyndi Almouzni and Elena Paparizou remain in the selection, which will be announced in the near future.

Elena Selected

In a tense selection in which two neck-and-neck candidates fought with each other for the right to represent Kopečka at the 5th BuzzJack Song Contest, Elena Paparizou edged out Cyndi Almouzni by 4 points to become to representative for Kopečka with her song Gigolo. Kopečka are still searching for their first win in the BuzzJack Song Contest, and the contest held on the 6th of April will be their last chance to do so until June due to the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

3rd top 10

Amidst panic at the Kopecek BJSC Committee after the phone lines dramatically crashed on the week of the contest, Elena Paparizou still managed to finish in 10th place despite a 15-point deduction which would have ordinarily sent her to 4th place, securing another top 5. As things are, Kopecka still manage to qualify for the next contest, which is to be held in Eledan after TATU won with Gomenasai. With the selection process now as competitive as ever after it was revealed that Kopecka have received the most points of any country in the contest without winning, all eyes are now on Serebro, who are the hot favourites to represent Kopecka with Opium.

War!

BJSC-mad Kopecka and Frahliso have declared war on each other after a dispute over which country would send Serebro to the 6th contest; with both sides claiming they had more right to send Serebro. Eledan's official stance is that the first to confirm Serebro's participation in the contest will be the ones to send them, however the dispute has spilled into the political spectrum and relations have deteriorated to such an extent that a state of war now exists :drama:

Kopecek forces march into Frahliso; Serebro to represent Kopecka

The Serebro War which has dominated Kopecek politics over the past few weeks has finally come to an end with Kopecek forces marching over the Frahlisan border, and Kopecka have won the right to send Serebro to the 6th BJSC which has been brought forward by a month to early May. Given the Kopecek passion for the BJSC, the war has now officially been concluded, and with few casualties and little damage caused by the war, things are now status quo ante bellum between the two nations with Frahliso also entering the contest - there is thus far little evidence amongst the Kopecek public that the war has caused any ill-feeling and Frahliso will be hoping to find something just as good as Opium in the aim of securing the Kopecek douze :w00t: Reconciliation between the two nations is underway and things look to be back to normal by the time the contest begins.

Serebro finish 9th as Beverly Knight shocks everyone

After the most memorable contest yet, in which Quotosibb grabbed a shock win with 114 points, Serebro managed to gain themselves a respectable 9th place finish with 71 points. "We've had great fun over the last month - we don't care that we didn't beat our last performance after the time we've had.", Elena Temnikova was quoted as saying. With all eyes on Siobah for next month's contest, a spokesperson for the Kopecek internal selection committee has hinted that the selection for next month's contest may be partially public, saying, "We have many choices in mind; we think that the best result may come from a combination of having others knock off the chaff for us with us deciding the end result". A few names have emerged ahead of next month's contest, with German/Greek starlet LaFee, Ukrainian pop goddess Ruslana, sex kitten Rachel Stevens and Irish flopstar Samantha Mumba all in the frame.
