What is in your Opinion mariahs trademark song all around the world?

 

I think Vom 1994-2000 Mariahs wordlwide best known song was Without You, her until now only worldwide super Hit! I was the biggest selling single of 1994 and hit #1 across Europe.

 

From 2001-2003 Her trademark song was Hero. After her breakdown she performed that song everywhere it was like a new anthem for the victims of september 11th. Also this song comes from her 1993 megahit album music box.

 

BUT then there was a BIG change from 2004-2007. Her album Merry Christmas finalle had yearly sales of over 150.000-200.000 in the US alone and All i want for christmas is you became a mea hit single on the download/digital charts worldwide. including downloads all i want for cheistmas is you sold nearly as many copies worldwide as without you and it will overtake without you's status of mariahs biggest selling single wordlwide in late 2008..

 

The song can and will finally re-chart in many european counbtries (Germany, UK) and it sells so great in japan, UK and the US! Its again the #1 top holiday song this year in many countries.

 

so in my opinion mariah careys new trademarksong around the world is all i want for christmas is you.

Without you saleswise is probably her trademark song because it sold the most particularly in the UK. However, I actually think 'hero' might be her overall trademark song. Its a really strong ballad with good lyrics and one of her best hits with her 1st record company. It was massive in the USA and did well in the UK.

Erm.... I'd say Without You/Hero/All I Want For Christmas/We Belong Together.. or maybe something from Glitter. :lol:

 

Quite a few people would recognise I'll Be There if it was played and all, or the disgustingly awful Against All Odds.

i don't know sales of without you in uk, but all i want for christmas was certified for 400.000 physical singles sold over 10 years ago... with massiv downloads NOW! So maybe it will in some time in the future be her biggest selling single in the UK!

Such a hard question, I once read on Wikipedia that it was Vision of Love, I really don't agree with that though. I just basically agree with what everyone had already said, a mix between Without You, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Hero and We Belong Together, I think the latter two are the strongest contenders for 'signature song' though, in time WBT will become an absolute classic.

I think it's 'Hero'.

It's the one that gets covered most and it's the one that everyone knows is a Mariah song. Plus which it's ace.

'Without You' will always be seen as a cover and 'All I Want...' everyone always thinks is a cover even though it's not.

"Hero" or "We Belong Together" imo.

Without You sold 559,200 in the UK according to British Hit Singles & Albums.

 

I would say We Belong Together and Hero are Mariah's signature songs.
