Posted November 24, 200717 yr Vote for Rule the World or Patience to get played on US radio. Not sure how useful this link is. But either way ... they've credited a song wrong. They've said its Robbie Williams 'I Want You Back' but when you play it - it is Take That's Back For Good. I mean ... Robbie is rich enough now .. . he doesn't need to live off the backs of Take That. http://www.clubupop.com/pages/votenow.php?...me=&expire= Anyway ... vote for either RTW, Patience or Lola. Norma

November 24, 200717 yr Author I do believe its Robbie's version of Back to Good. :) And I am sure he isn't living off anyones backs. Why don't they credit it then as by Take That? And I don't know why it is in there anyway - because it has already been a top 10 hit in the States. Hearing Rob singing Lola really makes me want the Kinks to have it re-issued so people can hear it the way this classic should be sung. Not a 'painting by numbers' copy. Even as a Rob fan ... you have to admit ... he has sleep-walked through this one! I expected more from him. Norma Just my view!
November 24, 200717 yr Can't answer that question as to why its there really, I don't think Take That are singing it I presume its Robbie thats singing the song. We all differ Norma in our views, I like Lola, great track, and I am not saying that as a Robbie fan, it is one of the standouts on the album. I remember the Kicks original too, and in my view Robbie has done a good job on it. :)

But having said that - I don't think any artist (even Take That) could improve on the Kinks original! The whole 'quirkiness' of it is down to them. If I'd choose anyone to do a cover of that song it would be Blur (or Damon Albarn in some form or another). But Lola is a classic and should be left as it is ... if it ain't broken ... don't fix it. Rob is good ... but if he's doing covers ... he should stick to Sinatra and Martin songs - songs he is comfortable with ... and above all ... songs that he likes. Norma
