I'm just really perplexed as to why Hard-Fi's latest single flopped. In at number 45 last week and down to 70 this week. And it's not as if it's had an effect on the album either.

Ok so I'm a Hard-Fi fan so I may be slightly biassed but I thought it was a good choice of single from the album, a good follow-up to a Top 10 single from a number 1 album, the single's been all over the radio, and they have a pretty established fanbase, so after all that you would have thought it would at least go Top 20 (like all their other singles have done). I can't understand why it didn't, given all of the above.

Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking maybe it's cos of downloads and they're not a band who a lot of people download. Does anyone know how it did in the physical chart?

And do you think any future singles from the album have got a chance of making the Top 40?

I like the song, but I think it was a bad single choice - it takes a while to grow on you and that's coming from someone who likes the band! But it's not just Hard-Fi who are flopping, loads of other acts are too.

Hopefully Tonight can do decently though. ^_^

yer alot of artists are only getting one or two hit singles off there albums lately....i didnt think it got enough promo either...i only saw the video once and hadnt a clue when it was released

apart from the fact that the culture of those indie mags is always the next best new thing and like hard-fi, so mainstream so last year perhaps??? it will come down to it not getting much radio/tv play. i only saw it once on tv, as the hits normally have american stuff on most of the time. and if people dont hear it they wont download it. zombie cultute we're living in!!!

It happenes i'm afraid :( Acts who have a high placing first single an then Album does well (usually) don't do very well with their next single. It happens with a lot of acts. Plus the promotion for 'Can't Get Along' wasn't very good at all so... :(
I'd say downloads are to blame for a lot of it too, everyday a small amount of people hear a song and just download it since its there for the taking and they dont have to wait for the physical single to come out, and by the time the physical does come out a lot of people already have the track, or the whole album so theres no need to buy it again. thats my view.

Hard Fi along with the killers are the only mainstream band I like

but their new album isnt doing it for me

downloads are not to blame, computer programmes at radio stations are to blame for getting all the market research data in and playing the same AC format for 92 weeks until trendy hype persueds an addition to the playlist.

and for the people who are just trying to get the exact say playlist on their ipods as that radio station, they hear it they download it. simple

nothing happened.its just a boring song.

hard fi cant definitely do better.

It's because they, and this - are truly terrible. It's not shocking to see that they had a shelf life.

I didn't find this too bad tbh. :( It just didn't have the right promo. :(

I downloaded it last night, Is it wrong that I'm only just getting into Hard-Fi? I liked a couple of thier songs on the first album, but they have been pretty meh really.
