Wonderful

Got a re-release a few weeks back.

This is probably the best electro-pop/dance song of the year for me. Even if you are unaware of the artist give the song ago, the video and song are both equally wonderful ( :

I LOVE LADYTRON ME

This song is definately in my top 10 dance songs of the year [obvs there are the untouchables at the top] but FOOK ME THIS IS INCREDZ.

No need to re-release it two years after the first one. A decent song, but miles away from Ladytron's best...and what the hell are they doing in the 'commercial dance' section anyway?

I'm not a music snob so I don't feel the need to place it in a section of the site for people to ramp up their music credibility/coolness.

It is commercial dance too imo, it was released on 2 x 7" and CD Single for money, you had to pay for it therefore they're selling their music for money and it's commercial dance.

Commercial Dance describes to me Ministry of Sound style dance-lite hits with models dancing provocatively in the video to boost CD-Rom sales.

Ladytron are more at home in the indie / alt board than here and it has nothing to do with 'musical snobbery'.

By music snobbery I was referring to this whole segregation of 'commercial dance' and 'non-commercial dance' which to me is merely there in the name of music snobbery. Surely the same could be done for Indie-Rock/Alternative. Put the Kaiser Chiefs and the Kooks in one section and then bands like Broken Social Scene and Los Campesinos! in another. Genre's are large and fit a lot into them. You know as well as I do that dance has a million different sub-genres and 'commercial' and 'non-commercial' aren't two of them.

I loved this back around the time of it's initial release (even bought the single of it). I really don't see the point in this re-release though, two years along the line.
Ladytron are probably my favourite ever band, I love everything they've ever done. They're currently in Paris recording their 4th album (which according to their MySpace is about halfway finished). I'd rate this song as being in my top 10 faves of all time, though believe it or not alot of the material on Witching Hour is better than this, International dateline and Last One Standing being 2 of them. If you're not familiar with them I highly recommend you give them a listen, I'm sure you'll be very rewarded. (Btw the song reached no. 42 back in 2005 so I would say it's commercial enough, regardless of their underground status)

Ladytron are great (AWFUL live, though)... and this song, and video, is stunning.

And no, of course they don't belong in the 'commercial dance' section :o :D

I'd have to say I disagree, I've seen them in concert a couple of times and they were incredible! They're renowned for being an excellent live band, their music really comes alive. Can I ask why you think they're awful? Maybe Helen's voice wa s abit strained in the perfomance you watched? She can be very nervous at times (just watch her YouTube interviews lol, she's incredibly sweet though).
musically they're fine (it's mainly tapes anyway)... vocally? She's abysmal - truly one of the worst live singers I've ever seen - painful.
Where have you seen her live? Which song was she singing? Each to their own of course.
