i'm not so familiar with the original, but i think i have heard it before.

Fingers crossed it does better than CMD and YMYB did, specifically YMYB.

CMD was rather underrated imo.

14/15 for Ashton

Republique d'Ashton qualified for their 14th final this morning. The ASC and Haffi are said to be delighted.

The ASC are now hoping their first male entry can bring them back to the top 10

I'm not :D

i'm still madly in love with Enjoy The Silence, i think they've done a great job with it. I posted the thread mainly to help spread word about the band.

It is only rumours so far, all shall be revealed on a special AAA.

I tend to use AshtonTimes for facts, AshtonTimes(Online) for things that aren't official but are more than rumour AshtonSun for rumours and ASC is a direct press release.

It's so i can remember just how true what i'm posting is when i look back

yes she was, an Aussie representing the UK in ESC! and Madison Avenue were definitely from Oz

don't be put off by people in the 'Pop' forum ;)

I hadn't noticed the awful reception that the track has got over there :o if I'm being completely honest, I don't think it would get more than 1-3 points from me, it's certainly nowhere near as great as Colour Me Dirty and You Made Your Bed, although I do like it, but then I'm not a huge fan of covers full stop, unless they are hugely original

You learn somethin new everyday. :magic:

Heard this is a few days ago, Red Blooded Women really are not to my taste but I think this could do better than the last one you sent by them.

Thanks!

I'm giving it some serious thought, and will wait and see how Haffi does before i make a decision on who to go with

Aussies back in for XVI??

With the ASC seemingly as indecisive as ever, new reports from within Ashton House suggest that the Aussie's plan could be back in full force. It has been suggested that Gabriella Cilmi could return for her third attempt next month with an amazing cover.

Also further linked with the spot is So You Think You Can Dance Ashton host Natalie Bassingthwaighte. Her former band, the Rouge Traders were spotted leaving Ashton House yesterday afternoon with Natalie after a meeting with the ASC. The ASC has confirmed they had contacted the Rouge Traders with a view to them representing Ashton in the Buzzjack Song Contest and that they had met to discuss this yesterday. They did not reveal which contest they had been discussing.

Jessica Mauboy had initially been confirmed as the representative for XVI with the song Burn after it rocketed to the top of the Ashtonise charts.

Artists Linked to Ashton for XVI // Songs Considered:

Red Blooded Women // Enjoy The Silence [7th Heaven Remix]

Gabriella Cilmi // Cry Me A River, Closer

Rouge Traders // I Never Liked You, Speak and Destroy

Jessica Mauboy // Burn

The ASC told us they had still not ruled out an NF to decide the representative for XVI

Jessica Mauboy's track is quite good. ^_^ There must be something appealing about it after all if it went #1 in Australia.
Gabby's Cry Me A Liver is lush. Rogue Traders are of course fantastic but I think you should wait a couple of contests, been a bit too much Nat Bas recently.

The Nat Bass overload lead me to discount her as a solo artist, but the Rouges have yet to be entered. I'm thinking they'll appear in XVII atm.

But i'm not sure.

I hate indecisive months :arrr:

I like Gabriella's the best, but I think there is room for more songs!

You could do a MF-style final, on Afternoon Avec Amelle, over this week and next week, ready to confirm. I'm sure on Amelle, you would get A LOT of response!

  • Author

There will be an announcement about XVI in Afternoon Avec Amelle.

Highlights are due in shortly. They were due in at 9pm but there has been some technical difficulties.
