Posted May 16, 200619 yr Roadrunner Records has officially announced the signing of Megadeth. Recognized as one of rock's most forward-thinking bands, Megadeth and its frontman Dave Mustaine have cast a long shadow on the metal and hard rock landscape with millions of records sold worldwide and an undeniable influence echoed in scores of young bands today. "We are proud to be working with one of the chief architects of modern hard rock and metal: Dave Mustaine," says Roadrunner A&R man Mike Gitter. "Megadeth and Roadrunner have led parallel careers on the cutting edge of metal for years now. The combination of the two is bound to be lethal." Mustaine says of his new home, "It is exciting to be some place you are respected, understood and appreciated. The truth is there's a lot of people I've known there over the years. I'm stoked we're all coming back together again to work on this project." Megadeth has begun work on its as-yet-untitled Roadrunner debut under the watchful eye of Mustaine and co-producer Jeff Balding. The studio sessions — held at Sarm Studios, outside of London — were filmed by director Michael Sarna (Anthrax, Obituary) and are available at Megadeth.com to fan-club members. May 16, 200619 yr To be honest, I dunno why he didn't sign to someone like Roadrunner or Music For Nations years ago... Capitol are hardly the home of Metal.... But Megadeth's glory years are well behind them now anyway, I find it quite amusing that Mustaine is considered to be 'forward thinking' in 2006, frankly Megadeth sound incredibly backward and anachronisitic in comparison to bands like Tool, Ministry and In Flames....
May 16, 200619 yr Author Their first 5 albums were amazing, the others that followed have never been great, either good or $h!t. I recently got 2004's The System Has Failed and i was disappointed as i read a report saying it was them back to their glory days, it wasn't though. Still an ok album. "Rust In Peace" is the best they've been, downhill from then on.

May 16, 200619 yr Author Damn i said 5 i meant 4  You don't rate "Rust In Piece"? :o that is far there best with Peace Sells (But Who's Buying?) just behind it. R.I.P is a ****ing excellent album which i rate as highly as Master Of Puppets. All of the songs are very strong (even the short "Dawn Patrol" which only has drums, bass and vocals) and don't slip abit.

There are some pretty good individual tracks on it, but I'm not a fan of it as an album....
