I reackon the album planned for Christmas 2007 has been pulled for commercial reasons.

Was only last year we had the last 'Christmas album', a rather lack luster rehashed Amarantine with a few extra tracks thrown in, but Christmas Album none the less.

Another thing, it would seem at the moment Enya's material requires promotion of a third party source(like a film, awards, TV program etc) to attract new people to her material.

I'd rather have a new album then another rehashed attempt with existing material, so whatever the reason I look forward to a new Album hopefully in 2008.

Yeah that link has been there since spring I think Ricky! There'll definately be no album this year anyway now.

I'm still puzzled as to why we haven't received anything official at this point. Anyhow, I think it's safe to say there isn't going to be anything released, it's too late in the year. I also thought of the fact that we had the EP and all the fancy editions of Amarantine last year..so maybe it wasn't a long enough time frame to complete the CD. It's possible that project was put aside, there's no way to tell, sadly. That HMV link has been there for a while, I would like to know when they are actually going to put something there..

I honestly don't expect a new studio album from Enya until 2010.

It's a real shame. :( I'll be in my final year of University in 2010! Scary thought!
2010....God I'll be in my 40s. I was 17 when I first discovered Enya.
Haha losing track of your age Ben? :P I was five when I discovered Enya. :magic:

Hi

well about the Christmas album, the year didn't end yet so we still have a chance......but we have to be realistic,so I dont know why so much silence from Aigle, they could tell just "we are ok".

I dont know if the Trio thinks this attitude with fans in everything they do is the cause for the success,I doubt, and it could make tired and desinterests fans, because with so many good artists out there and with strong promotion about them and a weak one as the Amarantine was with Enya could make people forgot Enya.

Unfortunately for Enya ,I found other artists that could make me feel the same as I listen to Enya so,I'm not so in need Enyas music as I was in the beginning, but I still could buy her albuns,or if I become really tired I can listened to their music without buying it.

We have been loyal to them by buying their stuff, and I dont see their loyalty with us,if some people considers loyalty the lack of information or a secret of something that we already have like the Amarantine re-re-re-release or releasing stuff in same parts of the world while others have to wait,I dont consider that at all,Enya is a global artist, her music is not only for americans or japoneses or nordics.

I always though that a official site was to inform fans and to keep them informed about everything that was happening to the music, not to the person, but we are not seing that,so why to have a official site? if it was from amateur artist we could understand it,but its not.

The news we received today on enya.com is quite frankly baffling. I'll post info in a minute, but not one mention of the Xmas CD.
I hate to say it, but I think the lack of an announcement is going to cause Enya to lose fans. :( She won't lose me as a fan, however, I will not say that I am not extremely disappointed.
I know what you mean Gloria. People will just think, "f*** this, I'm off" sort of thing and not take as much of an interest in Enya.

A lot of people move on fast when it comes to anything, that seems to be the way people are with everything anymore. :P I don't think there will be a Christmas album either, and we can definitely forget about the summer competition.

But anyway I'm excited about the Japanese tv special thingamajig. :w00t:
