Well me and Ryan were discussing this on our boat journey yesterday. Nelly's changed direction with every album but where will she go for her 4th studio album? She [well Geffen actually I'm guessing] scrapped the Spanish/Portuguese/Hindi/Polish album and she's been working on demossss.

 

Taking all of these things into account where do you think she'll genre/influence etc wise for album #04?

I'm half expecting something in the same vein as Loose seeing as she found such huge success with it.

 

Most artists however follow-up a huge era like this with a relative flop era the next time around (examples being Kylie with Fever > Body Language, Gwen with LAMB > The Sweet Escape, Kelly Clarkson with Breakaway > My December etc).

 

I pretty much think it will be Loose Part 2. She has done far too well in the last era for her to totally change direction.

 

I do think she might actually be more ballady though :o

 

If you think about it, its only America where the really uptempo songs have done well. (Promiscious, Maneater and Say It Right)

 

Europe is where she is biggest, and All Good Things/In Gods Hands have both done pretty well. Especially AGT.

 

So she wont want to let them down.

 

 

I reckon her next album will be a hybrid between Loose and Folklore. I expect songs like Te Busque and All Good Things, which have that Folklore-ish feeling but still have that sleek pop production.

 

On the other hand, I can also imagine her soing something really electro, falling somewhere between MIA and CSS.

Yep. I also think theirs a big chance of that happening too.

I can imagine Nelly doing a song like $20 though, I think she could pull it off. It's a hard balance though, she might end up with another Let My Hair Down :lol:

Am hoping a Folkore style album. I think she's gonna do a mix of the r&b and folkore stuff

 

Oh no lol Let My Hair Down is horrifyingly bad, i hope she does more ballads but keeps the right amount of comercial songs for the U.S.

Loose was good, but she needs to go away from Timbo!! Everyone is using him as their producer and he is saturating the market like the Neptunes did. And where are they now? LOL

 

(Even though I love the Neptunes and wish they would come back....they should work with Nelly!!)

She's had a lot of success with Loose, hopefully she'll continue to work with Timbaland and keep putting out amazing songs. She's gonna need to keep doing the RnB thing for the US as that seems to have given her the most success. Songs like AGT and IGH are really nice album tracks but really would never work as singles over here.

June 2008 will be 2 years since "Loose".

 

I think Mid-Late 2008 it will arrive.

She is pretty much definitely working with Timbaland, I believe she's already mentioned it in interviews...

 

I want something less vast for the next album I think, not like a Britney style album where everything sounds the same but an album which flows a little better for that I think she needs to exclude the foreign language songs and just do a foreign language album (:

 

Still a mix of pop/rnb/hip-hop/electro/strings will please me. It will be different to "Loose" for sure, I have a feeling it'll be more in the vein of RnB if I am entirely honest going for the "Promiscuous"/"Say It Right" way with a mix of ballads.

 

Hopefully it won't be rushed ): Don't want a "Sweet Escape" fiasco :/

I actually agree. Timbaland is becoming somewhat over-used :o If thats a word.

Yeah, she has said in several interviews she wouldnt stray from Timbaland :(

 

More Rnb-esque wouldnt please me at all. I want Mid-tempo more poppy stuff from her this time i think.

 

More songs like "Runaway" "What I Wanted" "I Am" etc.. :wub:

one things for sure her next album has to be amazing to be as good/better than this one
