I find this a bit wrong, as in I think its wrong to allow a 6 year old or however old she is, to make songs and sell them, as i guess the money she would make would most likly go to parents or in a bank account until she was like 18 or something and my guess is she won't see the money other than in things her parents buy for her.

Imagine the things people will say in like 3 or 4 years at school if her career goes nowhere, she won't really be able to live a normal life.

I just find it a little wrong. But its just my personal opinon. And i'm not saying she can't sing or anything because she can.

Recent child singers who get paid include Cleopatra Stratan, Lisa Borud, Christell Rodregz, Maria Figueroa. Then the boy and girl singers in the past few years, Maria Isabel, Billy Gilman, jonathan becerra, Declan Galbraith, nicolas geisler, micheal horncastle, to name a few. What's so special about Connie Talbot?

As an artist she's special because she performs with an unmistakable 6 year old child's voice with a level of musicianship and interpretation that is not heard from singers that young. Some people, including me, find the sound compelling.

Over the Rainbow is #35 on the UK charts this week, making Connie the youngest artist to ever do that. As of yesterday her CD went Gold, 100,000 shipped. She's been getting about 100,000 views per day on youtube since last June. I wouldn't care if I was the only person who liked her but it's nice to have company.

It was her idea to do the talent show. She wasn't intimidated by Simon Cowell. She wasn't fazed by the big audience. She speaks well for herself. There are laws protecting her earnings and how much she can work. She's got a trust fund for school now (and apparently more on the way).

Go Connie!

Shame her single is flopping according to midweeks :(

Is there a link to midweek information for albums. As of a day or two ago 100,000 copies had shipped. That sounds like 10,000 per day. I wonder how many albums have to sell so the producers will make another one?

I thought singles disappeared years ago. The best track on the album is I Will Always Love You but it's going to be a bit controversial having a 6 year old singing it.

Well the earnings are nothing to do with it really, its more of the point that she won't ever have a normal childhood, slightly like Jacko and other young singers.

I can't find another voice this young doing this quality of work.

Connie is going to be a widely admired British female, meaning around the world.
