erm... how many times have you used them?..

it does alter your state of consciousness which when you have a stable mind does make you see things that you know arnt there, but does act as inspiration artistically and spiritually . it opens doors to possibilities.

also you cant dismiss the effects that halluciogenic drugs have had on the world of art and literature... alice in wonderland?...lol.. where do you think concepts like that came from? music? not only pop, psychedelic music but nearly all the great classical composers used drugs! even tv programmes like 'southpark' draw on the imagination stimulated by drugs. art? many great masterpieces are drugs influenced, as is a large part of world ethnic art, from the american indians, aztecs, incas, to the great cultures of the east...

bottom line is..... without the use of drugs our art/music/literature heritage would be so much poorer.

But I think it´s a bit out of topic... Just because you get high and have some weird sensations, you cannot say that this proves that there REALLY is a spiritual world or higher being, etc...

sometimes threads evolve and go off topic, and is pertainent.

true it doesnt prove anything, it broadens your imagination as to the possibilities on offer, much the same way as scientific theory does. it indicates that the world as we know it is far more bizarre and complex (as does scientific theorys like the string theory) then what we see in our imediate envoronment.

this to me makes me doubt the crude (by comparison) religious texts like the bible, as its so basic, so grey, that i just cant give any credence to them as 'the truth'.
