December 2, 200717 yr I youtubed the Twang song, and thought it was quite good, but then the thing just boringly drags on.
December 2, 200717 yr Shayne Ward's double A single is at 30 this weeks. The song appearing at 72 is only If That's OK With You which was made available for download only this week so it made it in the top 75 on download alone. :) Thanks for the info ...I was wondering of i was seeing things

These, along with The View are this year's two bands who had a very promising start but have now became joke of the year and won't ever recover from that. You usually get one or two of these bands every year.
December 2, 200717 yr Shayne Ward is at #30 and #72. I wish people would read! Go up a few posts ;)
December 2, 200717 yr Call the shots at number 3 - thats good! shame about the album not charting as well though
December 2, 200717 yr What a lot of new entries/re-entries at the bottom of the top 75 :o Shame GA were pipped to the #2 in the end.

How they are "Joke of the year" I don't know.

How they are "Joke of the year" I don't know. because they are, after initial hype all of the remaining singles were BIG flops and they are generally percieved as a joke band now. I'd put my life savings on their second album flopping hard.
December 2, 200717 yr The View remind me of The Darkness. Are they what you mean by Joke Band Aly? I was just treated to that ginger haired banshee's christmas song on the tv. I'd forgotten how truly disgusting that band was. :(

Even though The View have a #1 album, interest in the band from there onwards started to wane.

Plenty of bands strugle on their second album so I think singiling out The View is a bit unfair... I mean.. I could always bring SEB into it. :teresa:

I'd forgotten how truly disgusting that band was. :( God, I HATED them. This reminds me of this time two years ago when I was on the Feeder tour and it was postponed (was completed in 2006), I decided to go to Birmingham in case the gig there was going ahead and remembered The Darkness had a new album out. I looked at the charts on teletext and the album only entered at #11 with a potential drop by a long mile the following week. From there that VILE band finally disappeared. And as for SEB, I doubt any of these bands would see 3 albums. :P (Although she did bomb, bless her :()

December 2, 200717 yr We have christmas smilies. :o  Anyway, Sophie didn't deserve to flop... Single choices..
December 2, 200717 yr We have christmas smilies. :o  Anyway, Sophie didn't deserve to flop... Single choices.. Her team deserve to be massacred for how they screwed up the project. That's all I will say on the matter as I won't flood this topic with my Sophie woes.

December 2, 200717 yr We have christmas smilies. :o  I know i just noticed that love them lol :D. Shame Girls Aloud didn't get number 2, oh well as long as sales are high.
December 2, 200717 yr Great to see Wham back in the singles charts ready for Christmas :yahoo: Well done to Shayne. He has connected with the people by promoting when and wherever he could and seems to have worked really hard at doing so. The appearance at Butlin's seems to have done him no harm at all, in fact may have helped sell a few more albums. Am sorta jealous wishing it could have been Gareth, but think it only fair to give credit to Shayne.
