Posted December 6, 200717 yr 06/12/07 WILL AT CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT Because of his long-standing association with Mencap, Will is to make a reading at Mencap’s Carols by Candlelight on Thursday 13th December. Unfortunately, the event was sold out long before Will was able to confirm his involvement but we know you enjoy being abreast of his movements! For anyone who already has tickets, the service takes places in the Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield, London EC1, starting at 6.30pm. As usual, it will be a festive blend of traditional Christmas songs and carols as well as festive readings from special guests. Shame about the tickets but a couple of girls on Devoted are going so we'll get feedback. Thanks to papage on Devoted. Edited December 6, 200717 yr by munchkin

December 7, 200717 yr Looks like there's still tickets available. Too far away for me. I'd go to the ends of the earth to hear him sing but London's a bit far for a reading.

December 7, 200717 yr Have I missed something  Jo Whiley said he was vey naughty at the last Carol service. Said she'd never heard rude lines in 'Once in Royal David's city.' :naughty:  He had a bit of a beer breath too from the night before.
December 10, 200717 yr Tickets for Carols by Candlelight It's just been announced that 100 tickets for Mencap's Carols by Candlelight have been released for purchase. Will will be making a reading at the event on 13th December which combines both traditional songs and festive readings to raise funds for Mencap. Here are all the details you need: Tickets cost £30, are limited to four per person because of popular demand and are available from the booking line on 0207 696 5547. The service takes place at the church of St Bartholomew the Great, Smithfields, EC1A 7JQ and kicks off at 6.30pm. Lovely for those fans who live in the London area.
December 10, 200717 yr I'd really love to go to this and if I lived in London, I'd be there like a shot but it's far too expensive to travel all that way to hear him just read a story.
December 10, 200717 yr Thanks for bringing it over TT :D Just checking your post BYM&M's, I thought you were packing a map and setting off again.

December 11, 200717 yr I think you'll find that was down to me putting you in a cab. ^_^ How long did it take you to get to the travelodge? My memory went fuzzy after the first couple of days searching the back streets of London ...it was only ringing you every half hour that kept our minds focused and stopped us giving up entirely

December 13, 200717 yr Author Just a couple of snippets - hopefully more later: Quote "Dark toursers blue v neck jumper & long coat. Very good reading with lots of inflection and voices like Danny. Very well received!!"Thanks to Iscagill My sis just texted! Says he did the last reading which was the best about a toboggan. And he looked very smart with a shirt and jumper combo and blazer and a flat cap. Oh...and he left immediately when it was all over. Maybe he had a blazer on under his coat? Bumbling says the reading was Enid Blyton and that he was very well behaved and looked very smart. Thanks to willsdoc. And a bit of gossip :P Apparently he was with a guy in a red jumper, Julie didn't recognise him A bit more thanks to papage on D: Just got back. 7 of us were sitting together ,good seats just about 3 feetb from lecturn. Will came in very quietly just before it started and sat in 2nd row opposite us but further down behind Lord and Lady Rix.He had abaker boy cap on--in church!! we were worried hed keep it on but tookit off about 5mins later!Looked smart and young ,cleanshaven ,collar and tie with sweater then jacket and trousers, looked rather 1950sto me -- in keeping with his Enid Blyton reading. Icould see him when we were sitting and he looked around up at the architecture quite a lot,but during hymns he was out of sight behind lecturn. The other reader s were ok esp.Lady Rix,but Will was of course the best sounding very Dannyish .As each reader came up to read a church warden walked up to the microphone to switch it up,Willwas the only one who smiled at him as if to say thankyou (little sweetheart) He walked out past the refreshments helping himslef to a wine glass and a nibble as he went.We presumed hed gone but Ive since wondered whether he just went out for a cig. with his wine ,presumably he didnt take the wine glass home .maybe we should have prowled around the church !(but maybe not) All in all alovely service beautiful atmostphere and music and the charming lovely man himself as usual keeping a low profile except when doing "his bit" brilliantly as always love Ann xx Edited December 13, 200717 yr by munchkin
