Belarus wins Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007!

Alexey Zhigalkovich from Belarus has won the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with his entry S druzyami. He scored 137 points, only one point more than the Arevik from Armenia in what can be called the most exciting voting ever in the junior competition.

It was already the second time that Belarus has won the trophy after Kseniya Sitnik's victory in 2005.

The complete results:

1. 137 - Belarus

2. 136 - Armenia

3. 120 - Serbia

4. 116 - Georgia

5. 111 - Macedonia

6. 105 - Russia

7. 86 - Bulgaria

8. 83 - Sweden

9. 56 - Ukraine

10. 54 - Romania

11. 39 - Netherlands

13. 33 - Lithuania

14. 29 - Cyprus

I'm extremely happy with the placing of Macedonia. Horray for Macedonia! :yahoo: I have to disagree on Belarus though. I didn't really like it too much (in fact in was my least favourite after Portugal).

Georgia is #4! :yahoo:  :w00t:

Oh, and by the way! What is this world coming to? Cyprus only gave 2 points to Greece. Greece, trying to keep the tradition going, gives 12 points to Cyprus.

I also enjoyed the show  I think Alexey was really cute and performed well, so at least in my opinion he deserved the award ^_^
For the third year in the row, won the song that performed last!
Ooh this completely passed me by. Looks like the voting was quite nail biting though.

well Greece just keep on being political even on a children contest  they can't help it I guess

I'm surprised Greece continue to give their 12 to Cyprus tbh. I mean it's hardly surprising that Cyprus give their 12 to Greece, but I wouldn't have thought it'd work both ways.

oh I was not suprised at all  it's like they have to

but the Greek song was apsolutlly the worst one of the night and those 2 points that they got were too much IMO

Do i detect a pattern here :o  No latvia or estonia :o

Cyprus only gave 2 points to Greece (the only points it got). That's how bad the Greek song was.

Once again, Portugal was all but ignored, moreover with no Spain taking part. I thought it would get zero (or 12, the starting score) but Cyprus and amazingly Armenia prevented it. If last year with a far better song and Spain in it, we were penultimate, this year we were lucky to emulate that result.

Oh yeah I forgot about that bizarre 12 points starting rule. Surprised at Cyprus. :o
Oh yeah I forgot about that bizarre 12 points starting rule.

So the kids don't get upset at getting 'nul' -_- Thing is it's pointless - surely you would realise that you got no points anyway FFS?

We saw sense. :kink: And it did pretty $h!t for ITV ratings-wise.
Oh right thanks for that  I remember watching it once, I think, when we had some young girl and a piano(?). And it was presented by some god damn awful presenters.
