I found the first series, compelling viewing but somewhat dicey, the quality of the acting and the storylines were DICEY to say the very least and the irony is Skins is a cliché within itself when attempting to represent "normal" teenage life.

 

I wonder if the second series will be as equally compelling viewing or the novelty wear off. If they go for the same tricks I think it'll be the latter of those two options.

 

Maxxie is confirmed to be at the centre of the first new episode with a new fat girl character coming second.

Didn't you think the plots and acting were a tad $h!te at times though?

 

I did like/love it but it pissed me off on occasions. The focus on Sid especially, I get the sense they're moving the focus of the characters around this series which is most pleasing ^_^

Maxxie and Anwar were such bad actors in the first series. They did seem to get better as the series went on though. Hopefully they'll develop Jal a bit more this series too as her character was pretty pointless last series.

And Tony will obvs be back this series.

I missed all episodes from Maxxie onwards because I came to uni, but I did really like what I'd seen up until then and I have a Skins poster on my bathroom door :kink: Looking forward to seeing this about 6 months after everyone else when it comes onto normal TV :lol:

Love this along with Shameless so much. Two great UK C4 programmes back in the new year ... heaven!

This first series was amazing. Granted it strayed into such an outlandish scene at times; and something which it really didn't want to achieve but it still hooked me in.

 

I hope they get rid of Michelle though, she was such a drip in the last series. No personality whatsoever and nothing more than Tony's sidekick. But as they never really tied the whole Michelle-Tony relationship up it could go either way.

 

It will be interesting to see how they fit in the new characters too. The whole faux-geek/drug-abuser characters started to wear thin at the end of last series so hopefully they'll stray away from that a little with the new characters. There's only so far you can go in a TV series with the original mould..

I have yet to watch all of the first series :o Kept missing random weeks so in the end I just gave up. But luckily I'm going to borrow it off a friend to catch up.

I won't be able to watch it this time because I haven't got sky :angry:
