December 9, 200717 yr Author [#0103] __The Decemberists ;; "O Valencia!" http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/RTRADS386.JPG Chart Run || [12-10-16-17-21-28-29-29-29-29] Weeks on Chart || 10 YTD Point Total || 36 UK Top 75 Singles Chart Run || [n/a] Date // Format(s) Released on || 12.02.07 // 7" Commentary ;; "But oh, Valencia! With your blood still warm on the ground..." The Decemberists are an interesting band, I love the natural themes within their music which is so idiosyncratically them. "The Crane Wife" (though over-rated) is a thoroughly decent album and so left of field. They may have sold out and gone for a major label but the quality of their music has remained consistant, so who is one to complain? Oh and they really should have released "Yankee Bayonet" too featuring the delightful Laura Veirs Vagina. Lord knows why they sat on it S: Below is the video for the single which is a bit henchly long so enjoy it if you have 10 minutes spare of your life o: 6Ad7XFStuB8

From one single with an exclamation mark in it to another... Ahhh Gossip, a nice little band before Ditto went and got her arse plastered everywhere hating "skinny bitches" (as Tittybangbang3 so wonderfully illustrates in comedic form) and generally being hard to ignore. This was the floptastic follow-up to the wonderful "Standing in the Way of Control" which appears later in this year-to-date (though admittedly in remixed form...). Here is their performance of "Listen Up!" at Reading Festival in August of this year. See if you can spot me in the abyss of this hooge audience, fun!! [[: and look! what's this?! The trousers are off and down to knickers and top already ;o! She did the usual "Strip! Bra and knickers! I'm fat!" routine as the set progressed, zZz 2mWOjuGHlRc ["Listen Up!" live @ Reading Festival 2007]
December 9, 200717 yr That number 103 song; is rather niceish :o I did like Listen Up but it's rather bland now.
December 9, 200717 yr Author [#0101] __The Wombats ;; "Backfire at the Disco" http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/KIDS012CD.JPG Chart Run || [06-08-13-20-30-38] Weeks on Chart || 6 YTD Point Total || 39 UK Top 40 Singles Chart Run || [67] Date // Format(s) Released on || 16.04.07 // CDS + 7" x2 Commentary ;; "It was a chat-up line built not to impress. More a sleazy remark on her whorish dress." I liked The Wombats during this period, their music was decent enough, hadn't heard a great deal of it, but now PEH I've gone off them a fair bit. Not because Radio 1 have jumped on them or something lolol nooo, I wouldn't be so musically snobbish. No, I just realised as each single progressed that they all sounded the same. They have a pet-sound and truly stick to it. Wha' joys for them and their fans. That said their story is quite remarkable, they weren't one of these auto-signed acts to Sony/Virgin etc and then labeled Indie to shift records, nayy they were unsigned for aggges and it wasn't until they sold out the Liverpool Academy (and were the first unsigned band to do so) that they got some label attention and well the rest is history, a top 20 album and Radio 1 bummage; could be worse for them =p So i think it's fair to say "good on youuu Wombats" for the success you've found (: Here is the official video for the track which goes for a, wait for it...DISCO THEME!!! "Cool" and 70s o4R89v1-wbo
December 9, 200717 yr I only know Gossip ;; "Listen Up!" thus far! :o :( Thats a good song though, bit of a turd single choice :( I look forward to the rest! ^_^
December 9, 200717 yr Author [#0100] __Low vs. Diamond ;; "Heart Attack" http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/MARRA004.JPG Chart Run || [24-22-18-12-06-12-23-30-38] Weeks on Chart || 9 YTD Point Total || 39 UK Top 75 Singles Chart Run || [n/a] Date // Format(s) Released on || 07.05.07 // CDS + 7" x2 Commentary ;; "Doing nothing, saying something never seems to fail" Low vs. Diamond are kwl, they remind me somewhat of The Killers (though obviously a lot less pretentious) and wahey no surprise, they're signed to Brendan man's very own record label. They shimmied across the UK during the first half of the year and I was lucky enough to see them support The Sounds. Twas great indeedyy. I under-charted this Indie-Pop number a fair amount rather annoyingly as I like it now a fair bit now even. They're back in 2008 in the UK promoting the album (which they recorded during the second half of the year) so I look forward to hearing from them again. Woo [[: Below is the official video for the single which I think is something of a montage to the band's lives though I could be wrong :S 1oqHKy7MCB0 ------------------ [#0099] __LO-FI-FNK ;; "City" http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/MOSHI49.JPG Chart Run || [34-33-36-19-17-21-10-13-20-32-27-29-25-25-36-29-35-38] Weeks on Chart || 18 YTD Point Total || 39 UK Top 75 Singles Chart Run || [n/a] Date // Format(s) Released on || 02.07.07 // 7" Commentary ;; "So come on boy just take us home, to the city that's where we belong." LO-FI-FNK (pronounced low-fi-fink) are an interesting dance outfit and I did like this single quite a lot, a rather staggered run and a poor peak though which is a shame, another which deserved to do better. "Boylife" (the album this track is taken from) is great too, very under-rated stuff, maybe they should just become Simian Mobile Disco or Justice and be bummed by the blogittes, oh well I'm a fan anyway [/randomanagryfit] Couldn't find much for a video so here's the band "performing" (if you can call it that), "City" in Miami. Kudos 4 the shaky camera and generally trite sound but hey-ho tis a means of catching a little act live. Be warned: tinny et boisterous sound :/ mV8KC-RV170
December 9, 200717 yr "Heart Attack" is ace! Seriously :o I like how you post the videos so I can listen to the ones I don't know. :P Fabulous so far though Jaykey but as I said last night - I don't understand why there are 103 songs? :heehee: How randomised.

They've all been relatively decent choons though I don't think they are as good as the ridiculously good official chart runs they've received. A nice little pop ditty this and made great by Ms. Hilson. I'm intrigued to see what she can do solo next year, hopefully something upbeat, fun and hot (take note Mrs. Flopzger...) Plus the Ed Banger Sebastian is clearly Xmillion better<3 Here's a nice LIVE version of the track, dripping with diamonds and egotistical individuals oh and a good dose of autotune ( ; , oh Keri haha o.O.... QFJiebexx20 ["The Way I Are", live at Swarovski Fashion Rocks] ----- [#0097] __Lily Allen ;; "Alfie" http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/TOCP61131.JPG Chart Run || [12-08-12-18-24-24-24-24-24-40] Weeks on Chart || 10 YTD Point Total || 40 UK Top 75 Singles Chart Run || [44-29-23-22-15-25-37-42] Date // Format(s) Released on || 05.03.07 // CDS + 7" Commentary ;; "I tell him he should get up cos it's nearly half past three..." I hated Lily circa "Smile", it was such a ugh song and she was so ugh but the more she released the better she got and I must confess "Alright, Still" is a decent Brit-Pop album o: "Littlest Things" is my favorite by her but I liked this a fair bit too at the time <3 Lyrically it's all a bit non-descript but the whole ambiance of the track left me feeling happy, what a paradox of a song S: But yeah woovv Thoroughly good video accompanied the song but ick @ the Alfie ;o scary thing :(! Oh and didn't Nash rip this video off something nasty, if you don't like being compared to her then don't make videos that blatantly rip off the person you're being compared to *rolleyes* yhyhyh UhplzTE24Ps --- [#0096] __Klaxons ;; "Gravity's Rainbow" [soulwax Remix] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Middle_Images/HMV/MODU17.2.JPG Chart Run || [19-13-13-13-13-21-30-33-33-38-40] Weeks on Chart || 11 YTD Point Total || 40 UK Top 75 Singles Chart Run || [35-58] Date // Format(s) Released on || 09.04.07 // CDS + 7" x2 Commentary ;; "Your tears leave trails of tik, van, Looftoo Autonoma : the rubix groom hoom" Klaxons are very good even if they do get labeled this, that and everything. Probably my least favorite single from them and tbh I'd have preferred a re-release of "Atlantis to Interzone" over this but hey-ho, still a good track off a rather good album. This song had a weird old chart-run, getting stuck weirdly at #13 for farrr too long haha. Should have made lower top 10 but oh-well. More Klaxons ahead in the chart [[: As the original was a bit slow I decided to chart the awesomeo Soulwax Remix which is frankly just a bit too amaze and better compared to the original. Not the only Soulwax remix in this YTD either ;o Here's a nice live version of the original track for anyone to enjoy. They were ace at Readingg, it's a shame any gig they do now SELLS OUT IN 10 SECONDS though !): MpWgW7-0es ["Gravity's Rainbow" live on Later With Jools Holland]

Next came Foals who are just wonderful "Mathletics" was an amazing single <3 Will be next year methinks they shall woob. Cracking single from Dizzee followed, "Maths + English" is somewhat amaze too, very consistent album man. "Flex" gets me all dancey too [[: . Bonde do Rolê follow quickly behind with the wonderful "Solta o Frango", originally released way back in the first quarter of the year. Such a CHOON ahhh. And finally Siobhán, who I sadly badly under charted ): Such an amazing song and the album is fooking stunning. Shame her left-field Pop went so unnoticed.
