This year I have cut down massively on the amount of physical CDs I have bought thanks to pick and choose from iTunes and good ol illegal downloading. :heehee: Altogether though in 2007 I bought in either digital or physical format 78 albums and this thread is going to reveal the best 20. :o So is Avril's album 'The Best Damn Thing' this year? Will Patrick Wolf be in 'The Magic Position'? Has 'The Black Parade' marched My Chemical Romance all the way to #1? Or will the Sugababes 'Change' everything at the last minute? Get your toast and milk and enjoy. :drama: [The awful puns were not my suggestion :heehee: ] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDLEO.JPG http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/MYCHEMIPRECD.JPG http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1747641.JPG http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDSPICE.JPG
December 10, 200717 yr MCR are BLATEZ gonna be No 1. :smoke: Allthough it would be good to see Bjork up high.... And arn't you a fan of FFAF as well Grami?
December 10, 200717 yr Author There are lots of surprises instoreee and yes expect FFAF, Paramore, MIA, Linkin Park and others to also appear. B)
December 10, 200717 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/18/Kyliex.jpg/200px-Kyliex.jpg *20* Kylie Minogue - X Favourite Track: In My Arms pQCMrs2xecs Miss Minogue [no not Fannii :(] returned in 2007 with her first studio album since being diagnosed with breast cancer. Coincidently if you have a fetish for Roman numerals you'll not that 'X' means 10 and this is also Kylie's 10th studio album. Despite only being in the shop for a couple of weeks the album has had a massive impression on me. I'm not usually the biggest Kylie fan in the world and I can say that this is very weak compared to her previous efforts but 'Sensitized', 'Like A Drug', 'The One', 'Nu-di-ty' and 'In My Arms' all scream SINGLE RELEASE to me and are up there imo as some of Kylie's best. It does seem however that the tracks have just been thrown together in the same vain as Gwen Stefani's 'Sweet Escape' album but luckily for Kylie it actually results in a pretty decent record and on another plus note 'X' pisses all over the awful 'Body Language'
December 10, 200717 yr Author http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/825202.jpg *19* My American Heart - Hiding Inside The Horrible Weather Chosen Track: Tired + Uninspired dKddts3mbFA Seee this is when Kerrang! actually comes in handy. :o I checked out My American Heart after reading a feature on them and the obsession has kinda grown tbh. These little emo-os have an album that bursts with confident tunes not a million miles away from the likes of Simple Plan. From the excellent first single 'Shake [That Awful Feeling]' to the lovely laid back 'Tired + Uninspired' the album has everything Grami could want. :o [except Michelle McManus obvs :(]
December 10, 200717 yr Author Didn't expect you to like Kylie's new'un :o Ooh and stuff. Oh yes I love Kylie :o Much better than Madonna and Mariah and the other anceint divas imo. Blehhh I don't find 'X' too good tbh. I hope 'Blackout' charts highly. :D Blackout? In your dreams. :smoke:
December 10, 200717 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e2/Loose_cover.jpg/200px-Loose_cover.jpg *18* Nelly Furtado - Loose Chosen Track: Say It Right AO6SnX9s5-w Well 'Loose' is the first of 2 albums in my top 20 that were released in 2006 but have still been a regular listen pleaser this year. I think 'Loose' is $h!t compared to the amazing masterpiece that is 'Folklore' but it seems to have done the trick for Nelly. The album is very hit and miss - I often listen to the singles and 'Afraid' and that's it  But kudos goes out to two of the best pop tracks of the century in the form of 'Say It Right' and 'Maneater'. I just hope that Nelly ditches Timbaland and returns to her 'Folklore' roots on her next record.
December 11, 200717 yr Eurgh Folklore era was dirge :puke:- The Loose era is where it's at.. I like #20 and #18- Can't say I have had the pleasure in listening to the number 19 album. :o
December 11, 200717 yr Author Eurgh Folklore era was dirge :puke:- The Loose era is where it's at.. I like #20 and #18- Can't say I have had the pleasure in listening to the number 19 album. :o But Folklore is much more meaningful imo. It's about the lyrics and there are some beautiful songs on there. <3 Loose is about the music which works well on the likes of Maneater and Say It Right - they're very infectious whenever and wherever you hear them but only the two slower tracks on the album come close to matching Folklore lyrically and that's what I like about albums :P
December 11, 200717 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d4/Rihanna_Good_Girl_Gone_Bad.jpg/200px-Rihanna_Good_Girl_Gone_Bad.jpg *17* Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad Chosen Tracks: Breakin Dishes yAU2L0aEHmY Yes! Rihanna :o I cannot hate this woman or her music which is a shock considering the genre she stems from. I have liked her since 'Pon De Replay' and me and my friend said it would beat Beps, Kaiser Chiefs, Girls Aloud + Simon Webbe when released which it did :P She just has these killer tracks that are so infectious ala SOS and 'Good Girl Gone Bad' or 'White Girl Gone Black' as me and my friend Jack affectionally dub it :heehee: it's the only RiRi album I own but it shows why she is hot property at the moment from the beautiful duet with Ne*Yo to the mega anthem 'Breakin Dishes' which SO has to be the next single to the massive smash hit 'Umbrella' this is definately an album I'd reccomend to any pop fan. The only complaint I have about Rihanna is she needs to write a few more songs of her own. Roll on album #4 next year then :heehee: Edited December 11, 200717 yr by BleedingThisXmas
December 11, 200717 yr Author http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bf/SEBT.jpg/200px-SEBT.jpg *16* Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Trip The Light Fantastic Chosen Track: If You Go 9JRI0xksh-4 I just loveeee that posh accent she's got going on  Sophie's 3rd album may have flopped commerically but it's fit to burst with quality pop tracks something the industry so desperately needs in this time of americanised RNB and indie bands coming out of the woodwork faster than Michelle McManus can eat them [and she is fast trust me]. 'If You Go' is my favourite non release from this album and was robbed of being a hit single imo. -_- 'Cat Chew' though  Edited December 11, 200717 yr by BleedingThisXmas
December 11, 200717 yr I love X  The only one I love from your list though is "The One" Stars & All I See I love loads  Good Girl Gone Bad is an amazin album but Breakin' Dishes is vile Graham :o  I dont like that one :( I still also like Loose alot ^_^ but all the tracks I liked from when I got it have all seemed to have been released so it seems I dont like any album tracks now
December 11, 200717 yr Author http://lamujerbionica.files.wordpress.com/2007/08/30_seconds_to_mars_a_beautiful_lie.jpg *15* 30 Seconds To Mars - A Beautiful Lie Chosen Track: A Beautiful Lie JwOya18u8_Q This band first caught my eye back in April when the video to 'The Kill' started getting videoplay on TV. It wasn't until September though that the band got noticed when Kerrang! gave the song the title of 'Best Track Of 2007' and the single shot into the top 30 on reissue. I'm hoping this is the start of great things for 30 Seconds To Mars. The album is deep and full of tracks that you may have heard a million times before but they still have their own unique spin on them. Personal favourites include the title track, 'From Yesterday', 'The Kill', 'Battle Of One' + 'Attack'
December 11, 200717 yr Author Thanks for the long comment Simon tis appreciated. :P I thought Rihanna's whole album would be right up your street. 'Breakin Dishes' is such a man bashing anthem <3
December 11, 200717 yr LOL since when was I a man basher :kink:  I love Sophies album loads, it will be high up in my countdown
