The Semi-Finals is over.

Now, it's time for the two-part finale!

For Limited Track of the Year, here is the link: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58336

- 2007 Track of the Year - finals

1. Finals - Part 1 (aka. Longlist) (December 12-15) - Similar to the LOVE/HATE poll, the ten songs will compete in a poll where BJ users decide which of the ten songs they love and hate. The five songs with the highest overall votes will advance to the Part 2 of the Finals.

2. Finals - Part 2 (aka. Final/Official Nominees) (December 16-20) - The final five songs will compete in a poll and the song with the most votes will be titled "2007 Track of the Year".

The Results - Total Votes: 62, as of 11:30pm, December 11 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS SEMI-FINALS IS CLOSED:

Group 1:

Top 5 (advancing to Part 1 of the Finals - Longlist: 4 clear longlist finalists, 1 decided by a tie-break) -

1st. Sophie Ellis Bextor - Catch You - [ 11 ]

2nd. Sugababes - About You Now - [ 10 ]

3rd= Britney Spears - Gimme More - [ 8 ]

3rd= Girls Aloud - Call The Shots - [ 8 ]

5th (after the tie-break). Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - [ 5 ]

There are three songs tied at fifth place, these are:

5th= Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - [ 5 ]

5th= Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone - [ 5 ]

5th= Amy Winehouse - Back to Black - [ 5 ]

Because Beyonce and Avril are from the Overall Top 10 and Amy was from the Pre-Semi finals, looking at previous polls or Round Robins points would not work - as there would not be a fair balance between the three artists. So, to get the equal and balanced tie-break, I have decided to look at their runs on the UK singles chart, as all three songs have charted before. The results are:

Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - 10-5-{1}-1-1-2-3-3-3-5-8-8-14-14-15-16-22-28-34-42-68 -> 21 weeks, peaking at number 1.

Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone - 32-23-17-{3}-6-7-7-12-13-18-27-29-41-50-59-70-64-64-63 -> 19 weeks, peaking at number 3.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black - 73-70-50-40-{25}-35-45-48-50-55-62-64-62-73R(4)-70R(2)-65-67-75-70-61R(9)-30-42-53-65 -> 24 weeks, peaking at number 25.

Despite Amy having the longest run in the charts collectively and is still charting, the song had spent 13 weeks in the charts on the first run and then re-entered the charts a few weeks later. Beyonce, on the other hand has spent 21 weeks on the charts, solely on its first run. Therefore, by pending on the chart's first run, Beyonce had the most weeks, so Beyonce will be going to the Part 1 of the finals.

Eliminated songs (after the tie-break) -

5th= Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone - [ 5 ]

5th= Amy Winehouse - Back to Black - [ 5 ]

Other eliminated songs (in order of appearance at the poll) -

Take That - Rule The World - [ 2 ]

Mark Ronson f/ Amy Winehouse - Valerie - [ 4 ]

Alicia Keys - No One - [ 3 ]

Group 2:

Top 5 (advancing to Part 1 of the Finals - Longlist: 4 clear longlist finalists, 1 decided by a tie-break) -

1st. Leona - Bleeding Love - [ 14 ]

2nd. Rihanna - Umbrella - [ 12 ]

3rd. Groove Amarda f/ Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control) - [ 11 ]

4th. Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No - [ 5 ]

5th (after the tie-break). Nelly Furtado - Say It Right - [ 4 ]

Again, There are three songs tied at fifth place, these are:

5th= Nelly Furtado - Say It Right - [ 4 ]

5th= Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own - [ 4 ]

5th= Kylie Minogue - 2 Hearts - [ 4 ]

Again, we have Nelly from Overall Top 10 and Amy and Kylie from the Pre-Semis. So, to have a tie break, the singles chart is again on course and here they are:

Nelly Furtado - Say It Right - 37-19-16-14-11-{10}-11-14-15-18-25-23-24-27-34-29-29-29-31-37-45-54-26-29-27-36-44-42-45-58-66 -> 31 weeks, peaking at number 10.

Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own - 67-37-24-{16}-17-22-25-32-26-35-36-43-47-56-61-59-68 -> 17 weeks, peaking at number 16.

Kylie Minogue - 2 Hearts - 12-{4}-8-9-11 -> 5 weeks, peaking at number 4.

Kylie has the highest peak amongst the three songs. However, Nelly Furtado has spent the longest run in the chart amongst the three songs in 2007, and also having a good peak position. So, it has been decided that Nelly Furtado will advance to the next round.

Eliminated songs (after the tie-break) -

5th= Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own - [ 4 ]

5th= Kylie Minogue - 2 Hearts - [ 4 ]

Other eliminated songs (in order of appearance at the poll) -

Ida Corr vs Fedde Le Grand - Let Me Think About It - [ 3 ]

Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat - [ 3 ]

Beyonce - Green Light (Freemasons Remix) - [ 1 ]

So, this is the longlist of ten songs for 2007 Track of the Year (The Top 5 songs with the highest Overall Score will advance to the Official Nominees Round):

Sophie Ellis Bextor - Catch You

Sugababes - About You Now

Britney Spears - Gimme More

Girls Aloud - Call The Shots

Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar

Leona - Bleeding Love

Rihanna - Umbrella

Groove Amarda f/ Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control)

Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No

Nelly Furtado - Say It Right

In this round, you vote for ONE song which deserves to be in the Official Nominees (the LOVE poll) and ONE song which does NOT deserve to be there (the HATE poll). Alternatively, it's like LOVE/HATE poll. The final score will be decided by this equation: LOVE votes - HATE votes = Overall Score. The Top 5 songs with the highest Overall Score will advance to the final round, which is the Official Nominees Round (Part 2 of the Finals).

OK now, VOTE!
