I thought at first during the episode the baby was going to have down syndrome or something similar due to Kates protectivness before relealising it would probably be Clares baby. I thought the episdoe was boring though.

Easily one of (if not the best) episodes of Lost bar the first 2! The writing was SO good. And the episode had so much in it. Quite a few questions were answered like I guess we know what Danielle meant by "sickness" now...and so much was hinted on too, pretty major stuff too.

The ending did have me a tad confused though. There's lots of ways that can be interpreted.

People loved this episode so much...it was good but I not my fave. Someone speculated that possibly all major questions of Lost can be answered by this episode. Like Jacob...possibly trapped between the past and present...

I think the Jacob thing is true to be honest. I wonder if he'd been exposed to large amounts of radiation? And i've read someone speculate that Christian Shepeard can actually be alive on the island, but be dead off it because of the time thing. Like when the plane crashed on the island, it was still when Christian was still alive. Doesn't seem very likely that it'll be true, but you never know.

BRILLIANT EPISODE

left me with my gob on the floor. when the door was open and that guy was like 'you must have a frend on the boat' it blatenly means micheal is on the boat, backing up the theroy he is bens spy.

nice little black rock reference in there to :)

It was good but i don't like the way the island was virtually unincluded in the episode.
I thought it was one of the best episodes of the series so far! I always love Desmond's episodes, he's such a great character! :D

Desmond and Penny are my favourite couple in the show. Their scene at the end of the ep where he finally managed to speak to her got me all choked up.
I agree on the Penny and Desmond stuff. It's not always in our faces and there's a real romantic value to it which is pretty much the complete opposite of the Jack, Juliet, Kate & Sawyer stuff. I know some people like it but YAWN. It's just so dull and I couldn't care less who Kate or Jack end up with.

Episode 6 was a bit of a let down for me compared to episode 5, although it did give some answers. I'd already worked out the stuff about Penny's dad, but it confirmed it and also hinted on quite a few things too...

The one thing I did like about the episode was how it humanised The Others quite a lot, and it gave us an even bigger insight into them. Michael Emerson is such a good actor though! I like how the episode was Juliet-centric, but it was mainly all about Ben. :heehee: The scene at the end was very well played out, not your typical Lost ending but it made me chuckle anyhow.

I've just seen right up to Episode 3, I'm not going to read the rest of this thread from the start, but I think I know who was in the box at the end of series 3 now. And I reckon 8 got rescued from the island, but only 6 got home.

The Other Woman has got slated by fans but I don't think it was too bad of an episode, I think the problem with it was that it was quite poorly written. They basically spanned the same time period that was shown in Juliet's other episode in series 3, One Of Us, but this time from a slightly different POV. It would've been better if it wasn't set over such a long period of time and just focused on one point because it seemed really random when Harper was like 'I followed you...'

Also what I didn't like about this episode was The Tempest...it was all just too convenient. It makes no sense either that the first hatch they found they spent a whole series excavating when there were ones just sticking out of the hillside on plain view.

What I did like about this episode was the Widmore reveal. So far the producers have been saying how this series would answer questions of the freighter people. I didn't like this so much because so far, each season has addressed an aspect of the show that has been with us since series 1. So the producers were saying how they would answer questions about the freighters this season but these questions were only introduced at the end of series 3. However, now that it's Widmore's boat, it kinda ties things together a bit more which I like.

Damn that stupid english women has got away with death twice now, i hope Ben shoots her with more success next time as i hate her character.

seconded.

i really enjoyed that episode personally, great that Ben revealed the whole Widmore's boat thing, i wonder if Charles Widmore knows Desmond was on the island? I was annoyed that they cut out before Ben said Micheal who is the spy on the boat. if you saws the advert afterwards on sky one you would know that Micheal is to return next episode because they said 'an unexpected face will return' that sort of made it obvious.

I have the feeling the boat race was a ploy to make someone wash up on the island and he knows that Desmond is on the island. I'm very sure Ben knows why Widmore wants to find the island too!

It's painfully obvious Michael is the man on the boat. In the US promo they showed you the back of Michael's head. The more interesting part will be how and why Michael is on the boat, and where Walt is...

yeah i wish they wernt so obvious about it, i knew it would be him since Ben first said he has a spy on the boat and wouldnt say who. Im really looking forward to see how micheal will be brought back into the show and also hope we find out what ahppened to Walt and what happened with him 'escaping the island' at the end of season 2. i wish Walt would be back but eh is to old now as we saw in season 3, i find it funny when in this season Locke said Walt told him to kill Naomi and also described him as bigger, the writers bad attempt to stop critism that they brought Walt back in and he looks stupidly older.

I know the producers wanted to keep it all secret with his return but it's pretty impossible to do so. His name has to appear in the credits at the beginning because of ABC and there's nothing they can do to stop that. Walt will be back, not sure when, but he will be back (I would say he'd be back sometime this season too). He's important to the mythology of the show and if you've seen the Mobisodes you'll know what I mean!

But what about the 31min time difference between the island and the 'real' world? Maybe Walt has grown up because time elapses faster when you're off the island.

yeah but i dont think he would be that older its only 31 minutes the really reason is that Malcolm David Kelley hit puberty.

Obviously, the producers always knew that Walt would age faster than the show hence his departure. But I don't think they would've let him have his little cameo at the end of season 3 if they couldn't explain it and I don't think they would have had Locke and Sawyer mention "taller ghost Walt" if they were trying to sweep the continuity error under the rug.

Someone posted a theory about the time thing at darkufo I think. They said something to effect of that whatever was preventing the island from being found by the outside world, was also holding it in space and time, but this disappeared when Desmond turned the key. So now the island is slipping away from the real world, which maybe explains why Daniel was so worried about the time difference.
