Ditto'd. I didn't think he had it in him, was really quite shocked when happened. But it definitely served a purpose and sets up a big part of the future...

The only problem I had with this episode was that so much went on on the island that the flash forwards didn't seem very significant. Like it didn't seem to take much to persuade Sayid to become an assasin.

I kinda know what you mean, but I like the way the FF and the on-island stuff tied on very well, and the whole episode was a set up for what happens at the end with the FF.

The new episode is on here in Ireland tomorrow night. Strange how Sky don't have it till next week as they have been one day ahead all season. I can't wait though. How many more episodes of this seaon will there be does anyone know?

6 I think. There was originally going to be 5, but there's going to be 6 now (I think the finale is 3 hours, although shown over different episodes). BUT there's gonna be another weeks break after a couple of episodes to make room for the extra episode, so Ugly Betty and Greys Anatomy gave have their season finales.

Yeah, the last scene with Ben and Charles was amazing!

Here's the schedule for the last few episodes (titles in spoilers):

Episode 10 -

Something Nice Back Home

- 1st May

Episode 11 -

Cabin Fever

- 8th May

Episode 12 -

There's No Place Like Home

Part 1 - 15th May

<<1week break>>

Episode 13 -

There's No Place Like Home

Parts 2 & 3 - 29th May

You can kinda tell what's gonna happen with the episode titles, and what section of the characters it's gonna focus on.

The finale should be AMAZING. Should clear up a lot of stuff, which should be v.interesting as the Oceanic 6 are all scattered over the island at the moment. The finale is apparently sort of a pilot for Season 5 too. I think I can kinda guess how they're gonna play out Season 5...

The episode was absolutelly brilliant. My fave since the season 3 finale :o I just loved it. There was so much going on and I am really liking the Ben flashforwards. :D

I hate the relationship side of Lost. Is so dull and all it ever seems to do is go round in circles (even in the future!!! will be interesting to learn what Sawyer asked Kate though, was obviously something quite big...)

The Christian stuff was pretty WTF too. I guess we assume from this episode why Claire and Aaron get seperated too...

Next weeks episode looks seriously AMAZING too. Cannot wait!

The final two seasons of Lost will each be an hour longer than previously planned, it has been announced.

ABC, the show's US home, has upped its order for 2009 and 2010 to compensate for two hours dropped from this year's run due to the writers' strike.

Co-creator Damon Lindelof said: "We were supposed to do 16-16-16. But we ended up doing 14 this season, so we owe two."

Lindelof also ruled out an extension past 2010 and revealed plans for this season's upcoming final episode.

"Carlton Cuse (executive producer) and I worked so hard to get the show to end that I think to suddenly say, 'Oh, I think we got another season in us' would be a betrayal to everybody involved in the show - but most of all the audience."

He added: "The finale this year will not be as tricky as last year. Hopefully, this year it's a little bit more of a straightforward action-adventure narrative. But the ending of the episode will hopefully engage and intrigue people looking forward to the next season of the show."

Lindelof also offered some cryptic comments on the role of the show's flash-forward scenes, and where and when upcoming seasons would be set.

"It's very exciting that the audience is going to be wondering when is the present going to be," he said. "We've moved backward in time, now we've moved forward in time. The present of the show has always been on the island - that may not necessarily be the case in the future."

Before 2010's final episode, Lindelof added, he and Cuse would run off to an "undisclosed location" so they cannot be grilled on "What does it mean?": "The fact that there's no one really around to answer that question, it forces people to come up with what they think it means. We can guarantee our show will not end with a cut to black, it will be more clear than that."

Excellent news. ^_^ Should be certainly v.interesting to what time frame is the 'present' next season.

So many more questions from the latest episode too. Locke has certainly become even more interesting now.

Cabin Fever was a great episode!!! My theory is that Aaron should be raised by Sawyer and (maybe) Kate. Christian says to Locke that Aaron is where he is supposed to be, which at that moment is with Sawyer, but as we've found out, Jack and Kate were raising Aaron. Charlie told Hurley that Jack shouldn't raise Aaron which is what makes me think that it should be Sawyer. I think Sawyer is meant to leave the island but decides to stay so Jack and Kate can be together.

I think Aaron was meant to stay on the island. There's obviouisly something special about him, much like Locke and Walt. I have seen some theories about that Abbadon is Walt in the future too. I am absolutely certain now that The Others took Walt because he was meant to become their next leader, but he was too special. Hopefully he'll return to the island anyway when the O6 go back.

I am now starting to think that the plane crash was a set up too, and the island wanted all the main characters tp board the plane.

Just a word of warning to people, the season finale spoilers for all 3 parts of the finale have/will appear very soon on the internet as they've been leaked out, and people are likely to spreading them about all over the internet over the new few weeks.
  • 2 weeks later...

I've really enjoyed this series! Can't wait for the finale next week :D

Will be very interesting to see how series 5 works!

Ireland is a week ahead of the UK, and it was'nt on tonight. Does that mean last week (ie. this next Sunday on Sky One) is the season finale? :o

Yep, double episode.

Yeahh the next episode is a double episode, and it airs in the US on Thursday for 2 hours thus making the season finale 3 parts. I've read the "apparent" ending for season 4, and it seems decent. Definitely something to make people tune in for season 5 next year.
