Posted December 13, 200717 yr Exclusive - Yazoo reform? Yazoo are set to reform for their 25th anniversary, Teletext can reveal. Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke formed in 1982 after Clarke left Depeche Mode, enjoying Top Three albums with Upstairs At Eric's and You And Me Both before splitting in 1983. Both albums are being reissued next year and, after an official website was set up at yazooinfo.com, it's believed they will play a gig to promote them teletext
December 14, 200717 yr check the Moyet official site where she posts a lot... this is just rumour, and, with a lengthy tour ahead of her, I doubt whether she'll have the time for the reunion which, if it'd have happened, would've been this year to mark their 25 year anniversary. It's a nice idea, though.... maybe the rumour got started by this - here's Alison Moyet performing Don't Go with the original backing track for the first time in 25 years. This was for World AIDs Day last week, in London - her voice is still stellar:
December 20, 200717 yr this is looking increasingly likely, actually... on her website, when asked directly about this.... she doesn't deny it, and states that yes, she would love to work with Vince Clarke again. I'd love another Yazoo album - they had a lot more life left in them, it all ended too soon and too abruptly, I think.

If they do reform, it surely can't be as bad as the awful Eurythmics comeback album "Peace", because at least artistically (in stark contrast to the once great Annie Lennox) Alison is still making great music as her wonderful 2007 album "The Turn" proved.
December 20, 200717 yr I would like to see them reform, if only just for an album release, but its Rich said, its like the Eurthymics rebirth, she is better off solo to be honest.
December 21, 200717 yr listening to the dross Erasure release nowadays, it sounds like it's about time Vince Clarke bought some new synths  Whilst his music was great with Yazoo, I always thought the backbone of the band was Moyet's vocals.... and, on the tracks she wrote, her excellent lyrics.
December 22, 200717 yr Author listening to the dross Erasure release nowadays dont know if it is dross, but is obv not pop music, more like some kind of electro-torch miserblism rather than shiny happy pop people going bouncy bouncy!!! probs not been making pop records for years (whether thats in the definition of pop! or pop!ular), probs their abba record would be the last, but then again that probs would be technically a big gay disco hi-nrg record wouldnt it??? Whilst his music was great with Yazoo, I always thought the backbone of the band was Moyet's vocals.... and, on the tracks she wrote, her excellent lyrics. i saw totp2 the other week with yazoo and i was thinking this is actually proto-gossip. what do you think
