Posted December 14, 200717 yr Brown signed the Treaty of Lisbon yesterday. Possibly the biggest act of handing over power in the UK's lifetime. So no referendum, no political discussion. What have we become a country of empty wet farts?
December 15, 200717 yr Rubbish. This treaty is far less significant than the Treaty of Rome (Tory government, no referendum), the Single European Act (Tory government, no referendum) or the Maastricht Treaty (Tory government, no referendum).

This treaty is far less significant than the Treaty of Rome (Tory government, no referendum), the Single European Act (Tory government, no referendum) or the Maastricht Treaty (Tory government, no referendum). That is also the view of the majority of political analysts/experts. Having read the details of the opt outs available to our government I'm not falling for the Sun/Dail Mail hysterical spin on this story.
December 15, 200717 yr Considering the opt-outs of Defence, Taxes, keeping the pound, etc, I fail totally to see where Gordon Brown has "signed away" the country.... I suggest you being far more critical of how this country has sold its identity to the USA, since WW2 we have basically been led by the nose by US foreign policy, our leaders basically sucking up to every single US president since Truman, whether they were good (Kennedy, Clinton), bad (Nixon) or absolutely fukkin AWFUL (Regan, Bush Sr, Bush Jr), our own foreign policy these days is barely distinguishable from that of the US, we're basically the puppets of America; I would far rather us be an equal partner within a United States of Europe, than be America's b**ch..... <_<
