Posted December 14, 200717 yr I dunno how many of u here are fans of Tori Amos but take a look at what happened at a recent gig. 2:25 minute into the song she went ballistic on 2 girls who are in the front row seats cos they kept coming & going. Tori swore. "Get the fukc out of my show! It's a privilege to sit in the front row and I reserve those seats for people who appreciate music, get the fukced out!". The other fans cheered on! Some guy then came along and brought the girls out of the gig. T8H13XmvstA Edited December 14, 200717 yr by McFess
December 14, 200717 yr I think Tori Amos is a rude, diva-ish primadonna who's ridden along quite happily on Kate Bush's coat-tails for quite long enough. Her terminally long stage shows would be enough to get anyone fidgeting and aching for the toilet... but to forcibly eject and humiliate fans who have paid good money to see this derivative, boring performer live, then get told to "get the fukk out" is completely, utterly unacceptable. In fact, I'd have mounted the stage and demanded my money back from her - personally - if she'd been as rude to me. Far from it being a 'privelige' to sit in the front row of one of her concerts, for me, it'd be utter torture. Expensive torture, too. How dare she.
December 15, 200717 yr Her proper debut album Little Earthquake was great, but as Russ rightly points out she has largely had a successful career thanks to the original & superior Kate Bush's reclusiveness. As Q Magazine once joked here are the three finalists in a Kate Bush tribute act competition: http://www.master.pl/~bonemil/bjork/400bjork04.jpg Still there is vastly more musicality & quality amongst these three artists than you'll ever get in a final of X Factor.
December 15, 200717 yr I think it's more than likely that the two girls were chavs who got tickets at the front through being related to a corporate sponsor or something, in which case Tori has every right to do what she did. And if they were coming and going that often, she has every right to do what she did. You're there for the music.
December 15, 200717 yr And if they were coming and going that often, she has every right to do what she did. You're there for the music. what if you need a pee, though? And Tori tends to do marathon live shows.... She had no way of knowing if the 2 girls were paying punters - probably huge fans if they got front row tickets - or if they got freebies. Either way, she's way off the mark acting as she did IMO.
December 15, 200717 yr I like some of her music but that sounds a bit drastic really... It's like working in a shop...you can't be rude to the customers and musicians really shouldn't be rude to their fans like that as they are making their money from concerts
December 15, 200717 yr Author what if you need a pee, though? And Tori tends to do marathon live shows.... She had no way of knowing if the 2 girls were paying punters - probably huge fans if they got front row tickets - or if they got freebies. Either way, she's way off the mark acting as she did IMO.I was thinking along the same lines.Who knows, maybe one of the girls got diarrhea from a bad meal earlier on or something & have to go back & forth to the loo & she just wanted her friend to tag alone in case anything happens. It's a possible scenario! I love Tori Amos but I was quite taken aback when I heard of this. I feel sorry for the girls being pointed out publicly like that. And about the Kate Bush comparison, Tori will forever have that riding on her but I really don't care about that. All I know is that I love her music. It's like working in a shop...you can't be rude to the customers and musicians really shouldn't be rude to their fans like that as they are making their money from concerts Exactly! I mean, where would any musician be without their fans. And, even if they weren't fans, I think she shud've at least finish the song, then get one of her people to quietly tell the girls their going-ons are interrupting the show & affecting the other fans. December 16, 200717 yr Someone posted this comment, it makes sense. (taken directly from their post at YouTube) "No they kept getting up and buying drinks..coming back and getting back up. These people were platium seats and they got to meet her and got goodie bags. I was sitting to the right of them as I had up front seats. I was a VIP. It was an awesome concert yet these people were so rude! So she made them leave. We were all very happy to see them go!"
December 16, 200717 yr As Q Magazine once joked here are the three finalists in a Kate Bush tribute act competition: http://www.master.pl/~bonemil/bjork/400bjork04.jpg still thats quite funny, so it is true, q used to be more like blender/the word and have a sense of humour. it wasnt all rubbish as it is now
