Doing Dad's dinner. If I was him, I'd be sick to death of fish by now. I know I'm fed up with cooking it.

Dad is fed. I'm leaving him with Dave and having a bath. It always seems so difficult to fit it in these days.

Bath completed. The trouble is, with me not watching Dave's Dad, he decided he needn't eat or drink. Dave hadn't noticed. It would be so much easier just to feed him.

Not if he really really hates it.......... but he does have to eat and especially drink.

He doesn't. He just fiddles around until it gets cold. The few things he will eat he enjoys - you just have to remind him that they are there and it would be a good idea to eat them while they're hot.

I don't know where you find the patience Meg.

 

I should be going to pick up my daughter from her friend's house but I'm sitting here drinking a cup of tea, dreading going out in the cold. I've only just thawed out after waiting for the bus home from work. My hands are protesting.

The sun came out this lunch time but, the wind id still freezing. If I'm cold, you are probably a snow woman.

Bed - I wnat to read my book. See you tomorrow.

I'm reading Cliff McNish - Angel. Just finished James Riordan's Rebel Cargo about the slave trade. I have no intention of reading Gone With the Wind.

Is Rebel Cargo fiction based on fact or something more academic, Nina?

 

I nearly bought Roots when I was in Borders last week. I wonder why they BBC haven't repeated it on any of their digital channels. I remember being very emotional watching it for the first time.

I am enjoying it. I didn't think I would. I reached the bit I stopped reading it at when I was 12 and can understand why I did. It is Scarlett's story, not Rhett's. Everytime he comes into it, my charactor for him looks just like Darius. My Scarlett, however, is smaller and rounder.

Your Rhett looks like Darius? That's funny, so did mine when I was reading Rhett Butler's People.

 

I'm going to read it again more slowly, to try to take in more of the new characters. I didn't really take them all in. I was just trying to find out what this guy thought Rhett had been doing in the gaps in GWTW and how those things made him react the way he did to Scarlett, whenever he met up with her.

I may get that one later. If we both see Rhett as Darius, we can't both be wrong.

I'm now going to get my lunch. Dad has his.

Rebel Cargo is fiction - a children's book but the author has done a fair amount of research into the subject so hopefully it is factually accurate.

what I shouldnt be doing - is sitting here chomping through my second Cadburys creme egg dreaming of Darius as Rhett! especially as I bought them for my daughter, saving her teeth, I think I'll think of it as.
