Singer Joss Stone has been named as the face of a new advertising campaign for Cadbury's Flake.

The popstar will feature in a series of TV ads for the chocolate-makers in Spring 2008, according to The Grocer.

Stone is the first non-model to take on the role of a Flake girl.

Cadbury has claimed that it is employing the singer to bring a "fresh take" to the campaign.

According to Wikipedia "Cadbury's Flake is a bar of thinly folded milk chocolate produced in the United Kingdom and Australia by Cadbury-Schweppes.

The product was first developed in 1920 and was founded by an employee of Cadburys. When the excess from the moulds was drained off, it fell off in a stream and created folded chocolate with flaking properties.[1]

In the UK ice cream vendors serve '99s' which are vanilla soft serve ice cream in a wafer cone in which a half size Flake bar is inserted in the top. Cadbury has also come out with a version which is sold in supermarkets."

Actually going back to the story I'm a little surprised they chose her considering the negative press she's been getting in Britain this year. :o
