God, I adore her so much. All of the above mentioned albums are amazing & just pure works of art. She was so outspoken in the '90s, which is why people hated hearing her speak so much. It's so hard to choose because they're all just so mesmerizing & musically crafted so well.

But I think Extraordinary Machine takes the cake for me. The title track, O Sailor, Red Red Red, Parting Gift, Better Version Of Me are all remarkable.  But the second LP is almost as brilliant, despite having perhaps the best title ever. Great tunes on there too like Paper Bag, To Your Love & Fast As You Can.

Quite simply Fiona Apple is the heir to Kate Bush as the greatest singer/songwriter in the world right now.

All three of her albums are superb, but Extraordinary Machine wins out, as it sounds like a truly unique artiist at work with a great set of songs to match.

But the second LP is almost as brilliant, despite having perhaps the best title ever.

well respect is due to you, for actually putting all of the When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You'll Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You Know That You're Right title in the box above and not just putting when the pawn...

i think somebody should come along and release an album called "if you think When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing Fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You'll Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You Know That You're Right was a long title and My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair... But Now They're Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows was a bit of a mouthful then you haven't seen this!!!", esp if its by U2

I absolutely adore Extraodinary Machine. Not About Love was one of my favorite songs of 2005.

Gosh, I can't choose. I love Fiona Apple. I used to think "Extraordinary Machine" was the worst and slightly boring, but now I'm loving it, especially "Please Please Please". I have the bootleg version songs though :kink: I like "Better Version of Me", but I think it's actually overrated. The bridge of "Extraordinary Machine" is amazing. "Never Is A Promise" and "To Your Love" are also both

Edit: How could I forget "Shadowboxer"?! It is probably my favourite Fiona Apple song

And "Paper Bag" has to get a special mention too :P
