Posted December 22, 200717 yr http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/almighty2.jpg Welcome to The 07 Almighty. :D Having been sufficeintly bored to compile an end-of-year chart this afternoon, I'll be running down from numbers 50 to 1 over the next week or so. ^_^ All of the songs charted on my JC Almighty chart and got plays on my iTunes; some are new and others date right back to the start of the year, with a couple from previous years. Let the fun begin!
December 22, 200717 yr Cool, you have a good taste in music so I'll be looking forward to seeing what songs chart.
December 22, 200717 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty1.jpg 50. Rihanna: Push Up On Me Chart run: [08-07-07-08] [4 weeks] I downloaded the Good Girl Gone Bad album when it first leaked and this was my instant favourite! It's got such a great dance-pop vibe, and it's wasted as an album track - I want it for the next single! They played it at my prom and the floor went crazy. Yayyy! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty2.jpg 49. Gwen Stefani: 4 In The Morning Chart run: [04-06-09-20] [4 weeks] One of my favourites off Gwen's Sweet Escape, this didn't deserve to flop! A great, wintery ballad, and gorgeous live too! ^_^ http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty3.jpg 48. Garbage: Tell Me Where It Hurts Chart run: [08-07-07-08-13] [5 weeks] Garbage came back this year with a new Greatest Hits and this lead single. It's a really different, much softer sound for them, and I love it. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty4.jpg 47. LeAnn Rimes: Nothin' Better To Do Chart run: [16-12-10-08-11-08-06] [7 weeks] This really surprised me! I've never known much about LeAnn's music but was browsing Popjustice and saw the vid for this. It's retro sound is fantastic; Christina take note! Such a catchy tune; again an unfair flop. Story of the lives of everyone on my iTunes! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty5.jpg 46. Katharine McPhee: Love Story Chart run: [13-10-03-04] [4 weeks] Last year's Idol runner-up took her time with her debut album and gave us a great collection of pop gems! This summery, uptempo number is one of the best. Airplay didn't take off in the US and the video is really cheap but it's very catchy.
December 23, 200717 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty12.jpg 45. Sugababes: Denial Chart run: [17-17-13-11] [4 weeks] I knew from the second they performed this live on Channel 4 that it'd be a favourite of mine from the album Change. Denial is a catchy, simple pop song with a really memorable chorus, and well worth a listen. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty7.jpg 44. Jennifer Lopez: Que Hiciste Chart run: [21-16-15-14-13-16-14-12] [8 weeks] Obviously not speaking Spanish, I wasn't expecting much from JLo's Spanish album project, but this lead single is incredible. I really love the beat going on and the official remix that was sent out beats the original version. Sublime! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty8.jpg 43. Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Me And My Imagination Chart run: [03-03-05-15] [4 weeks] I went a bit crazy when this leaked and I played it to death. I think at one point I actually prefered it to Catch You! In hindsight it isn't anywhere near as good, and I wouldn't have picked it for second single, but it's a decent, fun pop song all the same. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty9.jpg 42. Britney Spears - Gimme More Chart run: [03-05-06-10-20] [5 weeks] I'd never been a Britney fan at all, only really knowing her biggest hits and only loving Toxic. I decided to download this the night it leaked to check if the hype had been worth it; it had! I overplayed it when it came out and much prefer a lot of the other songs on the Blackout album now, but this is still a great song, and just what Brit needed for her comeback. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty10.jpg 41. Tweet - Anymore Chart run: [05-05-07-05-08] [5 weeks; Still charting] Earlier this Autumn Tweet came back from the wilderness with a buzz single, My Dear featuring T.I. That's a great song, all full of synths and harmonies; this, the real lead single to her upcoming third album Love, Tweet is very different; a more club-orientated sound. It's a short song, but they do say it's about quality, not quantity. ^_^
December 27, 200717 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty6-1.jpg 40. Soul Avengerz featuring Javine - Don't Let The Morning Come Chart run: [09-06-11-15-18] [5 weeks] Well Ive got Simon to thank for discovering this gem. :o Naturally being a great pop song it flopped, so I never even knew about it until this year when he mentioned it in a slagging-Javine convo. The song is so catchy and fun. Love it. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty11.jpg 39. Melanie C - This Time Chart run: [17-11-09-06-05-11] [6 weeks] After Carolyna flopped in at #49 in the UK I didn't think Melanie would release another single, but I'm glad she did because This Time (the title track of her brilliant 4th album) is a simple, catchy pop song. Get that #94 smash Celanie! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty13.jpg 38. Girls Aloud - Control Of The Knife Chart run: [06-02-03-03] [4 weeks; Still Charting] Oof! This unexpected GEM from Girls Aloud's 4th album Tangled Up HAS to be a single! It is amazing in every sense, with an incredible horns section and then a big slice of vocoder after each chorus. Yum! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty14.jpg 37. Mutya Buena - Real Girl Chart run: [09-03-01-07-11-25] [6 weeks] I didn't expect a lot from Mut's solo career but Real Girl is surprisingly great! It got some great airplay thanks to its perfect, upbeat summery sound and got to #2 in the charts; a pop smash! :D Shame the follow-ups did turd all. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty15.jpg 36. Gwen Stefani - Wonderful Life Chart run: [19-13-12] [3 weeks] Oh my GOD! I downloaded The Sweet Escape album when it leaked but my rip didn't include this song. :o So for months I didn't even know about it! Then I finally got it and fell in love and now it's one of my most played.! Amazing!
December 27, 200717 yr Girls Aloud, Mutya & Gwen from that selection are my faves, but never been a real lover of Wonderful Life :(
December 27, 200717 yr Wonderful Life is amazing! Control Of The Knife  I love the fact you have album tracks in the chart. Excellent :D
December 27, 200717 yr Hopefully Denial will appear here next year too  MAMI  This Time deserved so much more :(
December 28, 200717 yr Author http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty16.jpg 35. Amerie - Take Control Chart run: [07-04-03-10-18] [5 weeks] I really liked this comeback from Amerie at the time. ^_^ It's really quite different for her, a darker R&B than the loud horns of 1 Thing. In time I kind of tired of it, and realised Gotta Work is a lot better, but I still like it. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty17.jpg 34. Monica - Hell No ft.Twista Chart run: [25-24-13-07-02-02-06] [7 weeks] Monica's 4th studio album didn't even get a release in the UK and it flopped something major in America, but all of the singles were sex! This, the 4th and final release, didn't even have a vid, but I love the cool, relaxed R&B vibe. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty18.jpg 33. Infernal - I Won't Be Crying Chart run: [09-08-14-19-11-05-08-19] [8 weeks] Continuing the great British public's tradition of ignoring any decent pop song, this huge dance stomper flopped completely in the UK, relegated to a download release and not even charting. I don't care; it's amazing. Perfect revenge song! http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty19.jpg 32. Jordin Sparks - Tattoo Chart run: [19-09-17-19-X-19-07-04-04-12-19] [10 weeks] For some bizarre reason America seem to have decided to ignore Jordin Sparks' album. I'm not sure why because first single Tattoo is bloody brilliant! A really feel-good, mid-tempo number. Think Something About You. ^_^ http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z165/Jark101/07Almighty20.jpg 31. Rihanna - Umbrella Chart run: [09-09-02-05-09-14-15] [7 weeks] Well everybody knows this inside out, so it doesn't need much introduction. At first I didn't get it at all; after it had got to #1 though, and radio leapt on it, I started to like it and in the end saw the genius. Great song; incredible video too!
