just seen it on tcm... im in 2 minds about it tbh, although an interesting and as i recall pretty accurate take on the mod/rocker culture in the mid 60's , the storyline was pretty lame, and i didnt think the who's soundtrack really fitted. it was more to do with prog rock of the 70's then the vastly different mod culture of the mid 60's.

interesting cast list, many of who are or have been in eastenders! lol, and leslie ash looking quite seductive, pre-trout pout' days :)

Iconic films dont really need particularly great storylines, it's more about the mood and the attitude and I reckon "Quadrophenia" pretty much gets that right, Phil Daniels is fantastic. I just totally love the bit where you see Sting's character "Ace Face" for the pathetic wage-slave turd he actually is, bowing and scraping to some rich c**t.....  And the final shot of the scooter going off the cliff....Classic.

Agree with you on the music, it was The Who in 70s "Baba O' Reilly", "Who Are You" prog mode, not the raw, untamed proto-punk of stuff like "Substitute", "I Can See For Miles" or "My Generation".....
