Posted May 19, 200619 yr if you had to compile an ultimate eurovision contest form all the years of the esc? which acts and songs would you choose per country? so would everybody go for Abba and waterloo for Swedish entry? or is there a better example (shock  :o ) and could you select an act for each country from all the previous competitors? Andorra | Armenia | Austria | Belarus | Belgium | Bosnia and Herzegovina | Bulgaria | Croatia | Cyprus | Denmark | Estonia | Finland | France | Germany | Greece | Hungary | Iceland | Ireland | Israel | Italy | Latvia | Lithuania | Luxembourg | FYR of Macedonia | Malta | Moldova | Monaco | Morocco | Netherlands | Norway | Poland | Portugal | Romania | Russia | Serbia and Montenegro | Slovakia | Slovenia | Spain | Sweden | Switzerland | Turkey | Ukraine | United Kingdom | Yugoslavia
June 30, 200619 yr I've got to bring this thread back up I really wanna do this :D OK here goes...I wouldn't have EVERY country in my "fantasy" contest, just the ones that really deserved to be there. The contest would be from Dublin, naturally. The hosts would be...hmm I'd say Linda Martin and Terry Wogan with two of the more recent Eurovision entries doing various links and backstage stuff. 26 songs - I've not included Italy, since I had to cut the numbers somehow, and they're party poopers where Eurovision is concerned! Instead of videos like "Congratulations" these can all be performed by the original artists :D or others performing a similar version. AUSTRIA - Udo Jurgens - Merci Cherie BELGIUM - Sandra Kim - J'aime la vie BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA - Deen - In the disco CROATIA - Riva - Rock me CYPRUS - Lisa Andreas - Stronger every minute DENMARK - Olsen Brothers - Fly on the wings of love ESTONIA - Sahlene - Runaway FINLAND - Lordi - Hard rock hallelujah FRANCE - Oh man they've won 5 times and I can't think of a single song I'd like to be there! I'll say Amina - C'est le dernier qui a parlé GERMANY - Joy Fleming - Bridge of love GREECE - Anna Vissi - either Autostop or Everything ICELAND - Selma - All out of luck IRELAND - It's gotta be Johnny Logan - Hold me now ISRAEL - Dana International - Diva (I prefer Hallelujah, and it will be involved, just not here!) LATVIA - Brainstorm - My star LUXEMBOURG - Vicky Leandros - Apres toi MALTA - Chiara - Angel MONACO - Severine - Un banc, un abre, une rue NETHERLANDS - Teach-in - Ding dinge dong NORWAY - Bobbysocks - Let it swing RUSSIA - Alsou - Solo SPAIN - Salome - Vivo Cantando SWEDEN - *sigh* I guess I'll have to be predictable and say Waterloo SWITZERLAND - Lys Assia - Refrain TURKEY - Sertab - Every way that I can UNITED KINGDOM - Brotherhood of man - Save your kisses for me Interval act would be Linda Martin, Niamh Cavanagh, Paul Harrington, Charlie McGettingan, Dana, and Eimear Quinn doing a medley of their Irish Eurovision songs. I'm not going to say Riverdance as that never did anything for me. Then I'd have some of the participants doing a medley of other classic Eurovision songs (when the lines had closed of course, so as not to influence the voters). OK who would announce the votes! AUSTRIA - Alf Poier!!! BELGIUM - Kate Ryan BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA - One of the girls from Femminem CROATIA - Severina CYPRUS - Constantinos Christoforou DENMARK - Birthe Kjaer ESTONIA - Marko Matvere (host, 2002) FINLAND - Who knows!! Jaana Pelkonen (one of the people tipped to host the 2007 contest) FRANCE - Marie Mariam GERMANY - Thomas Hermanns GREECE - Helena Paparizou or Sakis Rouvas (whichever isn't doing the backstage stuff in the arena I suppose) ICELAND - Silvia Night all the way!! IRELAND - Oops, I've made a balls of this one! They're all there!! OK how about Ronan Keating -------------------------------------------------- Half way through the voting I think we could have some of the "nil-pointers" or all time horrors of Eurovision to perform a medley! Nicole and Hugo, Sverre Kjelsberg and Mattis Hætta (Norway 1980), Zdob şi Zdub (Moldova 2005), and a few more who I'm sure exist!! -------------------------------------------------- ISRAEL - Gali Atari LATVIA - Marie N LUXEMBOURG - Anne-Marie David MALTA - Fabrizio Faniello MONACO - Oh man that's a hard one! Any suggestions? NETHERLANDS - Whoever that oddball who announced the points this year was! NORWAY - Jahn Teigen RUSSIA - Dima Bilan SPAIN - Enrique Iglesias SWEDEN - Bjorn Ulveaus SWITZERLAND - Peter Reber of Peter, Sue and Marc TURKEY - That male presenter of 2004 - why not!! UNITED KINGDOM - Katie Boyle REST OF EUROPE - Katrina of the Waves Result and reprise of the song. And then why not have a big sing-a-long of "Hallelujah" with the participants having a line each or something. I'm sure it could use tweaking, or I've forgotten several huge "must-have" elements, but this has just come off the top of my head, and is definitely something I'd like to see! July 16, 200619 yr No Portugal in your show, Pete? How could you? Sorry N-S  I just suppose Portugal haven't produced a single top five Eurovision song in 40 years. I wouldn't have included Finland either had Lordi not won this year. You guys must love Eurovision though to still be taking part after such a terrible run of results! I hope you get lucky some day  Hmm...by the way I'd like to point out that the songs I included were't my favourites - they were the songs I think deserve to be there (and maybe influenced a little by favouritism). I'll post my faves soon :P Edited July 16, 200619 yr by Peter30
July 26, 200619 yr Yes, Portugal haven't ever gone higher than sixth have they? They will produce a winner one day!!!
