Posted January 1, 200817 yr I have emailed Jo Carrigan at Warner with my suggestion for a 20th Anniversary edition of Watermark. Abba have been re-releasing their original studio albums to mark the 30th anniversaries, and I think Watermark is due a re-release. I told Jo that I thought the expanded, anniversary edition could include: 1. A remastered cd as the original cd is of very poor sound quality 2. An expanded booklet. The original booklet was very 'thin'. It could be expanded to include lyrics, alternative photos from the Watermark photo shoot, sleeve notes about the story and impact of Watermark. 3. Additional tracks. Three spring to mind: Morning Glory (b side to Evening Falls single), Storms in Africa Part II (a reworking of the Storms in Africa track), and As Baile (Gaelic version of the Watermark track 'Exile') 4. Any unused tracks from the Watermark sessions. I don't know if there are any but it would be wonderful to hear some alternative versions etc. 5. DVD content: containing the videos for the four Watermark singles. Plus the performances Enya did between 1988-1989 on Top of the Pops, Wogan, Val Doonican show etc. I'll let you know if she responds / replies.
January 1, 200817 yr That would be a really nice item to own. The quality of the CD is awful - you can really tell the difference between 'Orinoco Flow' on 'Watermark' and 'Paint the Sky with Stars'! Unused tracks from that era would be fantastic to hear too - there must be something at least! I hope they are planning something at Warner, it'd be great for the fans. It'd be good if it was released around the same time as a new album as well I reckon, good promo for each other.
January 2, 200817 yr I'd like to see some fancy repackaging with remastered sound and a few never before released tracks. I would be in heaven.
January 2, 200817 yr Is Jo Carrigan the head of marketing at Warner was it? I can't remember what you said her title was now.
January 2, 200817 yr Author I'm not exactly sure what her official title at Warner is. She is very closely connected with Enya as she gets singled out for particular thanks by Enya, Nicky and Roma in the Amarantine album booklet. I have just had an email from her in reply to my suggestion. This is what it says: Dear Ben, Thank you for your email. I will pass on your comments to Warner UK as they are the repertoire holder. Happy New Year to you too. Best wishes, JO
January 2, 200817 yr Ooh that was prompt. :o I hope this idea gets pushed! You could be getting thanked in the 20th Anniversairy booklet Ben.
January 2, 200817 yr Author :w00t: Yeah it was quick! I very much doubt that I will be thanked David but it's a nice thought lol. I hope it happens though. Hey, David, I'll leave it up to you whether or not you want to post this on Unity. Certain people on there won't believe a word of it but I'm happy to forward the emails on to any doubters. Although I don't see why they should be given access to Jo's email address!
January 2, 200817 yr Meh no I cba tbh. :( It'll only result in a few sarcy remarks from certain members. :drama: I actually do think something like this is likely though, as it'll also be Enya's 20th anniversary of being with Warner won't it?
April 27, 200817 yr Wouldn't it be great if they took a track out of the vault and added it to this type of edition?
April 28, 200817 yr I got all excited when I saw this had been posted in again. :( I can't see it happening though tbh.
April 29, 200817 yr :heehee: Do you think we'll get a new album of any sort this year Gloria? Seeing as we STILL haven't heard from Aigle over the farce that was the Christmas release of 2007. :manson:
April 29, 200817 yr I was thinking a Christmas release this year..but I don't want to think too far ahead.. :P
May 2, 200817 yr Aye same here. Even "official word" won't make me believe there will be an album on its way!
July 9, 200817 yr I just hate the fact that Aigle is just leaving us out in the cold. I mean How hard is it to say that there is or is not an album coming out this year?
July 9, 200817 yr I know it's pretty pathetic. Must be almost a year now since we had any form of communication from Aigle, and over a year since we last saw Enya in public. :manson:
July 12, 200817 yr I had some pictures of Enya shopping..I didn't think that was too long ago in terms of her being in public, I'd have to check. I do agree, though. We haven't heard anything about the contest, the "new album", nothing. :(
