With her musical comeback already declared a failure, Britney Spears is turning her attention to the big screen, where she reportedly beat out Lindsay Lohan for a new drama. And what a perfect role it is! Spears will star in director Tommy Parker's, um, Memoirs of a Medicated Child, where she'll play the girlfriend of a misdiagnosed mental patient. The story will even find her character going to court to testify in, um, a child custody battle. The movie, based on the real-life story of a man named Mark Black, was reportedly offered to Lohan at one point, until producers changed their mind and settled on Spears. "As far as Britney's concerned, we're talking," says Parker. The role would be Spears' first on the big screen since 2002's flop Crossroads. As for Lohan, the blow of supposedly losing a movie role to fellow train-wreck Britney isn't the only indication that her career is in trouble. An AOL Moviefone fan poll, in which almost four million people voted, declared Lohan's performance in I Know Who Killed Me as the worst performance by an actress in 2007. And there's more: Her other 2007 flop, Georgia Rule, finished second in Moviefone's "biggest waste of $10 spent on a movie ticket" poll category.
