Fair play to Gary tonight. The script pulled out of playing at the Blackpool lights turn on and Gary tweeted them saying that he'd do it if they wrote a cheque to Children In Need.

They jumped on the chance and he is there now playing the gig. Very nice thing to do Gary!

Let's hope most of the donation does go to Children in Need - as according to an interview this morning on BBC Radio Lancashire - the cheque was not made out to them but to an agency (I think the tory councillor speaking said it was to Gary's agents - The William Morris Agency). Of course - musicians must be paid (as Mike Stevens was there I'm assuming the rest of Take That's musicians were there also) but I'd hope the agency itself wouldn't take a cut from the donation.

There wouldn't be any donation at all if Gary hadn't offered to play!
Exactly it would have ended up as nothing so anything that is made from him showing up is a bonus.

To be honest - I don't give a stuff about the whole 'thing' that is Children in Need. The local economy is more important - and had the organisers of the switch on not made it a 'ticketed' affair - it wouldn't have been the massive flop that it was. 4,000 people turned out to it whereas in previous years it was just over 20,000. £35 for a ticket is bloody ridiculous - given that it is a family event - then two parents with two kids are paying over £100 for something that was once free. Hence - local businesses from hoteliers to cafe owners to pub landlords to rock sellers and kiss-me-quick hat sellers lost out. But hey - another boost to Gary's Sainthood and we'll see if the six figure cheque ends up as six-figure cheque on CIN night (you'll have to let me know because I don't watch this waste of TV licence money).

Gary is a bigger star right now than at any time in his career.

Not only that, but Robbie is back with his biggest album for eight years.

Just imagine how big the next Take That album will be!

It's going to be flipping big!

Very true, i can see the next Take That album being as successful as the others, the interest should be huge especially if they have a killer lead single like they did with the flood.

What did Howard do while Gary was writing the song though? I hope he made Gary his tea the way he likes it!

Gary was in Hollywood last night at the Pre-Oscar Award Party to perform 6 of the songs he has written for the new version of Finding Neverland! He sang in front of the Hollywood A listers such as Robert De Niro, Leo Di Caprio, Julia Roberts, George Clooney etc and sung with the female lead in the new show, Laura Michelle Kelly - from Glee. Gary played and sung the part of JM Barrie!

It apparently went down a storm! Standing ovation and rapturous applause! Piers Morgan just tweeted Gary praising his performance, commenting that he rocked Hollywood last night!
