That is really good for The Circus. This year the selling of albums is worse than the last years, the album is still no 7 after the release of great albums. Take a look at U2 and Arctic, both more album seller than single sellers. U2 struggle big time with this album and singles and Arctic needs asap a good single to bust the album sells.

I completly agree, there have been a few big releases this year and take that have managed to sell more album than them this year considering they had sold about 1.3 million copies of the same album the previous year, and altho take that are number 7 on the year end chart so far they aint very far behind the prodigy who are number 6. I know there are alot of big album to be released this year yet but take that will manage top 15 in the year end chart. Also with the release of the live cd and the concert dvd this will both promote more sales for the circus album aswell.
I hope at Christmas will sell more :) . But still in top 75, which is fine ...

Its such a pity they didn't do a 'de luxe' as that would have ensured it hit the 2 million mark before Christmas. Having said that ... I'm glad they're doing what they're doing instead! I'm getting quite excited now about this live thing!

Iris ... I didn't know you did opera? My uncle (sadly now passed away) loved opera. He, like you, adored Mario Lanza - and I must admit ... today's opera singers can't hold a light to him. Not even Pavarotti could match him.

Ya im getting very excited about the up coming live cd and im happier with this than the deluxe,an dim hoping it will sell reasonably wlel for them although i know 300,000 will probably be the very maximum, the circus should sell in low numbers right up until the end of the year and bring total sales well past the 2 million mark which will be great.

I didn't sing opera, but i like it a lot (i used to sing church music :teresa: ). I used as a student to go very oft in Bucharest to opera- the romanian have amazing soprans and alto. I was a "classic" music lover for long long time (i would still be if the tickets in Germany for opera/concerts won't be sooo expensive).

The problem with Pavarotti was that he had a very "light" voice, not so good for dramatic songs. Lanza was the first singer to introduce me to the singed classical music, so i still have a soft spot for him (like watching the cheesy films he made) and is my fav tenor  .

Now back on the live cd: i am happy they offer something for the money and don't go on the easy route to re-release a CD with one-two tracks more (they are allowed only four to count to the normal CD, right?). I don't know if i will like the CD, but i respect them for doing this more.

The live cd is good value for those who like live cd's(like me) its a double cd and one a live concert which is what i will love, and others will properly prefer the acoustic cd as it will probably give a complete new take on their songs, sometimes live albums are a lazy release and very thrown together but as far as live cd;s go i think take that are putting some effort into it which is brilliant.

After re entering the top 75 again last week at number 68 the circus continues to rise and is number 60 this week, total sales should be just over 1.9 million now.

I'm so happy with that. Once the DVD is released I'm sure the album will get a few more sales too.

Ya definitly i thik the dvd and live album release will definitly boost the circus sales.

I'm glad Rob's first week sales of Bodies didn't match TT's RTW this week too! Mind you ... I'm glad Alex's song didn't match the sales of Bleeding Love either. I can't see Bodies going on to sell as many as RTW either. Likewise Bad Girls V BL.

Bodies will in no way sell anything near what rule the world did, i can see 400,000 tops for bodies, meant to add bodies charted at number 3 here in ireland just like rule the world did, likewise alexandra will in no way outsell beleeding love and personnaly i think its only only right that bad boys doesnt outsell bleeding love and bodies doesnt outsell rule the world as the they are no way near as good.

As i mention ruke the world that opera verion by the girl gary signed(i cant remember her name) performed on the late late show here in ireland on friday night and she performed it very well and got a great reaction, it will be interesting to see what affect it has on the charts in ireland next week.

To be honest ... I'd rather it prompted people to buy Camilla's album rather than take TT's version back into the chart (although both would be nice.) I want Gary's first signing to his label to have a success - I think it'd mean a lot to him.

I do think she will have some success as there is no doubt she has done a great version and im sure there are many more gems on her album, take that will probably gain more in terms of sales regarding rule the world but her album could sell in decent numbers if she keeps promoting. I agreee about garyls first signing to have success id love that to happen as im sure gary would as he will have out his heart and soul into this project.

You must let us know how Camilla gets on in Ireland (I think she'll do fantastically). I know this is the direction Gary wants to go in so I hope she's mega-successful (in a classical sort of way). I do hope that Gary does return to TT stuff soon though ... although I get the feeling he (and they) may call it a day.
