Posted January 4, 200817 yr I went to my local Woolworths and HMV today with the intent to get some albums, hopefully something by Beverley. Woolworths didn't have anything and HMV only had one copy of "Music City Soul" for a whopping £16. In the end I bought "Back To Basics" and "This Is The Life" for just over £10. I like them both, but I still want something from Bevelery Knight to listen to. I was wondering what do you guys consider to be her best album so far? I think they have most of them on Amazon. I was thinking of getting "Voice", the Greatest Hits, since that should be the best album by logic. However there might be a better album than that by her. There's also the possibility of getting two as well, so maybe a top 2? Edited January 4, 200817 yr by Adi_Gallia
January 4, 200817 yr Affirmation is the best studio album BY FAR. The greatest hits is good to have too, Who I Am is also a good album I'd consider it to be better than MCS. ^_^
January 5, 200817 yr PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ANYONE who has Straight Jacket, PLEASE SEND :( :( :( I need it desperately, amaze
January 6, 200817 yr I'd say the best album is the Greatest Hits but the best studio album is Affrimation, Music City Soul and Who I Am are good to though
January 9, 200817 yr I think I'll probably get the Greatest Hits and Affirmation then. Probably the best ones ^_^
January 22, 200817 yr Author Yeah, I bought 'Affirmation' and the GH, I bought a used copy of 'Affirmation' and the case broke at the 'hinges' when I opened it. <_< I think both are great albums though. :) I never knew Beverley Knight sang "Made It Back" ('99) I always knew of the song but I didn't really look into finding out who sings it. I also like 'Straight Jacket', 'Till I See Ya' and 'Tea & Sympathy' from Affirmation. The first 6 songs on the GH are my favourites. I think Beverley deserves more recognition in the UK, she's a great artist and she isn't appreciated enough. I have to say my favourite is still "Queen Of Starting Over" it's one of my favourite ever songs now, it cheers me up for some reason and it just describes Beverley so well in my opinion. Is there any other really good songs on MCS? I'm familiar with 'After You' and obviously 'Queen Of Starting Over' so I was wondering if it's got any other similar songs on it. The only thing with it is that it's quite expensive wherever I look. <_<
January 22, 200817 yr Hmmm I'm not so sure Music City Soul for me, I dont think any of the other songs would persuade you to buy the album. Uptight is really good I think. Excellent choices for favourite Affirmation songs too

As for Music City Soul, I think it's a very consistent album but doesn't have as many standout tracks as her previous albums. Who I Am is worth picking up, especially if you can find it cheap :P
