Did any one watch the show about the history of the Old Grey Whistle Test on BBC Four last night?? Was an intesting history of this mostly prog to singer-songwriter show of the 70s (scary to think that here is a home at last for Newton Faulkner - think i saw a reimacarnation of him on that show  )

- didnt know that swhere the creators of the word magazine are from - tho it kinda makes sense, doesnt it??

from watching the 'tribute' last night and also watching the tube on more4 a few weeks ago it seemed that it is actually whistle test that has more influence over shows such as later than the tube did (tho maybe it was a very bad ep of the tube that more4 broadcast as it seemed to go on for hours, with random presenters with bad hair and big glasses rather than having jools holland as main presenter like later and a docementary of northern irish music that was a prelude to what seemed like jazz-funk workout by the undertones :puke2: )

well i cant see why the tube is supposed to be such a show of ultra-wow-ness, but can see why the Old Grey Whistle Test played an important factor in pop broadcast history.

what do you think??
