Even tho it was mostly blokes sitting round a table discussing things (with CP Lee, pete wylie and Joe Brown) - i found this show to be intersting overview of early R&B, Skiffle, rock n roll and the crooners.

maybe they are right, maybe Cliff richard diserves more credit than he has today for the stuff he did in the 1950 - maybe all the god loving tennis playing is fogging the view.

I know my parents enjoyed the show, I'm looking forward to the remainder of the series.

Whatever you think of Cliff now.....

I challenge anyone to say this is not great Rock n Roll music:

Don't Forget Pop Britannia  (Part 2) BBC4 Friday 10PM.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/musictv/popbritannia/

already mentied it already inother thread. did you see the 1950s show last night? it was a good discussion (even my brother came down to watch it - and usually its only 1990s dance music for him - and did a fats domino impression - how bizarre...as millionaires in Auckland might say  !!!!)

Here's another version of Move It that I recorded last week on my Camcorder

It features Mike Sheridan & The Nightriders who do a couple of gigs each month near Birmingham.

Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne used to be in his band in the mid 60s

The Final is on tonight BBC4 at 10PM.

The 1960s should clearly win, but will it?

1970s - tho that final show was awful - loads of fake auds clapping - a waste of 90 mins - no wonder some say bbc four is dumming down (tho dont think spiceworld will get another rpt  ) - thank funk i could fwd thru it to the end on disc - tho the other eps were better even if it was people talking round a table.

good to see McAlmont on the show
