Posted January 8, 200817 yr Wetten Dass.. J: I heard you had a great concert last night. All my friends called me and told me how awesome it has been. Pink: Really? Cool. Yeah, I had fun. J: But I had to work yesterday so couldn’t come. And I heard the boys from Bon Jovi went there? Did you meet them? P: Yes, I met them before. They are cool guys. J: You do also work with Richie before. P. Yes, he played on Misery on my the album. J: Your latest hit Just Like A Pill is in the top ten in Germany. It’s really honest and direct. In that song you complain about the fact that someone makes you ill and isn’t help you. Who do you… P: (sigh) J: Can’t you hear that question anymore? P: No, I’m just thinking about how this person really makes me ill. (laughs) J: Who is that poor person? Well, he’s not poor I guess… P: No, he knows who he is. (laughs) J: But he’s not your former teacher or something? P: No. It’s about a relationship. just have a bad relationship. J: You called your album Missundaztood and you spelt it the wrong way? P: I like it to spell things wrong. But I knew everyone would read it. It’s the meaning of the word Missundaztood. You get it wrong and you spell it wrong. And you p*** of your teachers at the same time. That’s always good. J: You write your lyrics by yourself! Where do you get your best ideas? P: Oh my God. In the studio, listening to music. When Linda’s strumming the guitar and playing the piano. J: The songs have something to do with your own life. One song is called Dear Diary. Is your album something like your best friend? You want to tell something on it? P: Yeah…I don’t know. I don’t have any special reason. I just write whatever I feel. And it happens to be about me and my life experiences. I’m very arrogant in that way. No, I just write whatever comes up. J: You’re just 23 years old and you left school with no graduation. Like, ‘***k off’. Did that make you strong? Going through all that hard times? P: Yeah, for sure, it makes you wiser. It makes you stronger. I hope not to make the same mistakes twice. That’s the biggest mistake. J: What was your worst mistake? Something you regret? P: No, I don’t really regret anything. My worst mistake? There’s been so many. I couldn’t even rank them. Probably giving someone my heart who didn’t deserve it. It’s been a bad mistake. J: Are there many people who try to give you an good advise? Or do you have the chance to say ‘Listen, it’s my life.’ P: For the most part, everybody I have around me are really good people. Really positive people. But that took a lot of work. That took many years of work. But yeah, if I don’t like somebody, they’re not gonna be around me. But it’s been cool. I mean, the feed back I’ve got off the album has been great. The shows have been great. It’s fun. J: We’re in the show which is called Bet. Do you bet? Do you like stuff like that? Gambling, Roulette…? P: Mhm. Black Jack. J: With a good glass of whiskey and a cigarette? P: Mhm. J: You smoke also, right? P: Yeah. I’m cutting down right now, so I’m a total *****. But (sigh) I do like to smoke. J: It’s good for the voice in some way I think. In a different way. Janis Joplin was smoking. And she had a great voice I think P: Yeah. J: Do you have any idols? P: She’s one of them. I like Billy Joel. I like Green Day. I love Jack Johnson’s new cd and I like the Foo Fighters’ new cd. I love the Distillers. I like a lot. J: Do you have the possibility to go a little bit to se Germany? Or do you rather say ‘no, I’m doing my show’ or…? P: Ah yeah, for sure, I went around a lot in Berlin. J: I live in Berlin. P: Really? I looove Berlin. It’s my favorite. Here I’ve been a couple of times, but haven’t really been out too much. I’ve been around, we went to a couple of sex-shops. J: Sex shops? P: Yeah, you always have to go to the sex-shops in each city to see how differently perverted everyone is. J: Oh, that’s a really good idea. Normally I go to the cemeteries… P: Yeah, sex shops, they really tell it all. (laughs) J: You just got an Mtv award for best international artist. Was that big for you? P: Yay…I did? Oh, yes I did. That’s fun (laughs) Right on! Um yeah, that’s cool! (laughs) J: What do you do with these things? Do you just give them right away to your label? P: No, I keep them. J: When German artists get an award, then they put them into the toilet. P: Really? J: Yeah. I don’t know why. Maybe because everybody can see them there. Where to you keep your awards? P: I only got 2 rooms. I live in an apartment. So everything I own is basically in one room. So you kinda have to look around and then ‘ah, there’s an award.’ J: Sounds really cute. And you’re called yourself ‘Pink’ because you blush so quick…? P: One of the reasons… J: I think that’s really cute. Some people I know hate that. Do you hate that? P: Hate what? Blushing? J: Blushing. P: It only ever happened once. And that’s where the name came from. But eh…it sux. (laughs) J. I hope you have a really good evening at Wetten Dass… P: Thank you. J: Great performance, great tour. And I hope I see you in a different city. P: See you in Berlin.
