Posted January 11, 200817 yr Rod Allen lead singer of 60s/70s band The Fortunes has died at the age of 63. He had been battling against cancer for some time. The Fortunes had 5 Top 15 hits - 4 of them Top 10 Their hits were: You've Got Your Troubles - UK#2 - US#7 LISTEN Here Comes Again - UK#4 US#27 LISTEN - my personal favourite This Golden Ring - UK#15 LISTEN Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again - UK did not chart US#15 LISTEN Freedom Come Freedom Go - UK#6 US#72 Storm In A Teacup UK #7 Their first single called Caroline was used as the theme tune for 60s pirate radio station Radio Caroline LISTEN It didn't chart though and was banned by the BBC for obvious reasons. January 12, 200817 yr i liked the fortunes 60's material, gentle, pleasant pop... im not keen on 'storm in a teacup'... or 'freedom' though...
