Posted January 11, 200817 yr note: this thread is not about the actual music but the idea behind the culture and notions of the definitions and marketplace pop and rock in mainstream popular culture - not a thread about who is good or bad - maybe maore about gender, race, sexuality, class etc etc etc. (rock = positive, macho, good, dredible and pop = female, homosexual, fey, negative, not worthy of credibility) he is probs one of the best replies to have been posted on teletext latters page, you dont have to know who the article was praising and which pop acts it was criticising but you can guess from the letter below "Earls's feature on rock v pop was stale and reductive. Innovative music ignores that dated dichotomy, and the idea that boys with guitars define authenticity belongs in a museum". by Nova Pilbeam your opinions on the above please
