Posted January 11, 200817 yr simple question, with acts like Basshunter and t.A.T.u recording English versions that i dont think are as good - are the English language version better or worse than the originals (and if you think they are better is it because you speak English as your main language)
January 11, 200817 yr i prefer Basshunters Now You're Gone than his Boten Anna. NYG is a lot faster and has more umpf to it :P
January 12, 200817 yr Author i prefer Basshunters Now You're Gone than his Boten Anna. NYG is a lot faster and has more umpf to it :P i disagree, when Boten Anna was first played on Pete Waterman's World of pop it was a record i had to go back to once the recording had stopped and play over and over again...not many of those great types of records. but the english language version doesnt have that effect on me. t.A.T.u's Robot was another great one.

January 13, 200817 yr Take Shakira, she sounds/sings better in her native language, and then when Anastacia sung a song in French, it sounded awful. So I suppose the artist will sound the best in their 1st Speaking Language.
January 13, 200817 yr Honestly, even though I despise Basshunter, I prefer Now You're Gone simply because the lyrics to Boten Anna are the biggest load of c**p I've ever heard (well, read, really). Artists generally sound better in their native languages though.
January 13, 200817 yr Artists sound better in their native language because they can exude more emotions in their lyrics, because they know what they are singing about and are confident with the words. Just my take on it.
January 13, 200817 yr I always prefer the English versions, but that is because it's my language. I just don't see the point in listening to a song in another language when I can listen to it in English, understand it and sing along. But that's just my POV.
January 13, 200817 yr Author Honestly, even though I despise Basshunter, I prefer Now You're Gone simply because the lyrics to Boten Anna are the biggest load of c**p I've ever heard (well, read, really). but its a cheesy europop record sung in a foreign language..are you really gonna go to the trouble of bothering with the lyrics (unless you are swedish obv)...fun to sing a long to like a muppet (the one below obv) http://farm.tucows.com/2004/12/swedish_chef.jpg
January 13, 200817 yr I prefer Boten Anna, i heard it in germany over the summer, and loved it since then ^_^
January 13, 200817 yr Author I prefer Boten Anna, i heard it in germany over the summer, and loved it since then ^_^ its like Lou Bega - one of those records you hear and gotta play over and over again in quick succession - great - you just knew it was gonna be big
January 16, 200817 yr I prefer "BottenAnna" it sounds in my opinion alot better in swedish.I really dont like the english version of it that much.
