Media Sometimes journalists try to create a persona that's not really there. Scandals People equate sexy with promiscuous. They think that because I'm shaped this way, I must be scandalous -- like running around and bringing men into my hotel room. But it's just the opposite. Work It's a shame to call somebody a diva simply because they work harder than everybody else. People There are certain people that are marked for death. I have my little list of those that treated me unfairly. Appearance I could serve coffee using my rear as a ledge. Media It used to bother me being portrayed as this bitchy person, but now I feel that the public understands me better than some writer. There are people who know who I really am, and that's good enough for me. Work My parents wanted me to be a lawyer. But I don't think I would have been very happy. I'd be in front of the jury singing. Celebrity Status I have the stardom glow. Scandals I'm not mad if people call me the modern day Liz Taylor. We've all had a love of our life and failed love affairs. I'm just the biggest romantic… it's really sad. I tell people that, but nobody listens. They're too busy writing about the thread count they think I demand. "My older sister and I both started out in musical theater," Lopez continues. "She has a great voice and she had more of a chance of making it than I did. But she couldn't take the rejection. You have to get up there and say, 'You like me? And if they say,'No,' it's like, 'OK. f*** you! Next? How about you? Do you like me? Or you? Or you?' Eventually somebody will say 'Yes' and that's your opportunity to shine, to turn on the star glow." Lopez: I'm happy as well. For me, it's not about a level of fame or celebrity. You're born, and you want to do it. That's what people don't understand. It's something that kind of lives inside you. My passion is not my salary. They say, ''Jennifer, do you want to make a doll? It would make bunches of money.'' That's not fulfilling to me. I go, ''No. I'm not doing a doll.'' That's what they try to make it about: fame and money.
