Someone should tell pop princess Jamelia that there are no VIP areas in prison.

 

When she went to visit her 22-year-old brother Tumbi Beckford at Wakefield High Security Prison - where he is serving life for a gangland shooting - his request for a private room was turned down.

 

Caring big sister Jam, 27, and her two young children were forced to use a communal room alongside all the dangerous criminals and their relatives.

 

Our insider says: "Tumbi wanted to see Jamelia in a home visitor room alone, so she did not have to sit with the other prisoners.

 

Advertisement"But that's reserved for special cases and she had to use the visitors' area.

 

"It was full of paedophiles and rapists, which must have been awful for her."

 

A pal adds: "Jamelia doesn't condone what Tumbi has done, she can't stand gun crime, but he is still her little brother."

I just read this.

 

I can see both arguments to this; she shouldn't expect to be treated differently just because she's a star. But in her defense, this isn't the first time she's had to sit with everyone else in there, so I'm thinking she/he requested this special visiting room simply because she was bringing along the kiddies - and we know how protective she is of her children.

She didn't even request it, he did. :/ So that comment was a bit off Slick. And I had no idea about this. :o

Yeah, he was convicted a few years ago. There was a vicious rumour back in 2004 that Jamelia was seen on camera making gun noises, waving her hands about supporting gun crime with her brother. Of course, she spoke out saying it was false and there was no video at all. She was infuriated, especially as she campaigns so much against gun crime.

 

And I can't think why anyone would want to write about this, let alone read about it. Who cares if she didn't get a seperate room? Instead of writing about things that no one cares about, they should set up a meeting with Jamelia and talk about this new album she's working on and what fans can expect ... I am so tired of reading about her doing this & doing that. What will they write about next? Her having a sh*t in a public toilet? Ooh.

That woman is doing anything & everything other than what she originally got noticed for. We love her, but Jesus Christ; slow the hell down & sit your ass back in a studio finishing this album. I can't put your Model.Me product in my damn CD player and listen to your music, J. Come on.

It's great she wants to branch out, but most people do one or two things and still do the music ... J is doing 87676456 things at once and putting the music on hold (her manager, Jonathan Shalit, said she was working hard on new material last January - and even had them build a little cresch right next to the recording studio - and that it'd be out early this year. Now, Jamelia says it'll be out at the end of this year at the earliest ... The EARLIEST? Ugh).

I fully agree. :lol: She should focus on the music but right now if she's uninspired and wants to wait so that she can give the fans the best album possible, I'm all for that too! ^_^ Listening to Walk With Me again last night, I realised that it's an incredibly strong pop album. The next has a LOT to live up to!
