Basically, NME have left it up to the readers to vote for the bands to appear on the shortlists which will then be voted for to win the selected awards. The main awards are:

* Best British Band

* Best International Band

* Best Solo Artist

* Best New Band

* Best Live Band

* Best Album

* Best Track

* Best Video

* Best Music DVD

* Best Event

As well as awards such as Best TV Show, Best & Worst Dressed and Best Website.

The only one i've nominated Razorlight for is Best British Band as they haven't really had many releases this year. But it would be great if they won something ^_^

So head over to the NME Awards main page, register (It's free) and start voting.

Voting for the shortlists ends on the 29th January so it's probs best to do it sooner rather than later

If im honest I don't think Razorlight have a cat in hell's chance of winning anything.. they just haven't been around enough this year

:lol: Aye, I can imagine him winning that quite easily

Razorlight haven't won many awards in their time tbh.. don't even think they've won a Brit :\

Think they won a South Bank Award or summit a few years back

I take it by your use of " :) " that you're being sarcastic? :) -_-

Hmm and then they get nominated for worst album 2 years later. :rolleyes:

Wow.. Razorlight have a trophy. I can sleep easier tonight knowing they've collected more in their cabinet in 3 years than Newcastle United have in 50 years ^_^

Just a reminder that you have under a week to get your votes in :o

Another winless year at the NMEs for Razorlight, but the Arctics have broken a record :o

Arctic Monkeys have scored a record seven nominations for this year's NME Awards, including best British band, best album and best track.

Other nominees include Klaxons, who are up for four prizes.

But troubled singer Amy Winehouse has been nominated for villain of the year along with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Tony Blair and George Bush.

Winners are decided by the music weekly's readers and will be announced at a London ceremony on 28 February.

Winehouse is nominated for best solo artist, along with Kate Nash, Jack Penate, Jamie T and Patrick Wolf.

But she is also in the worst dressed category, where she faces competition from Pete Doherty, although he is also nominated for the best dressed award.

Competing against the Arctic Monkeys for best British band are Babyshambles, The Cribs, Klaxons and Muse.

In the best album category, the Arctic Monkeys are up against Babyshambles, The Enemy, Klaxons and Radiohead

Ah well, cheers to everyone who voted ^_^

Johnny's up for Villain Of The Year and Worst Dressed :o
