February 12, 200817 yr I know they've both done really well, but I've always thought the Sugababes have produced much better music and songs, which I prefer, I also think they've had a lot more success internationally? Sugababes for me too. I think your probably right on the international front.
February 12, 200817 yr Sugababes for me too. I think your probably right on the international front. I doubt that, Girls Aloud have very similar qualities to Spice Girls who were massive, I think they'd do better, although If Sugababes went in with their more R'n'b sounding stuff such as ' Freak Like Me' and 'Shape' hmm. lol
February 12, 200817 yr Its very close. I voted for GA. I find Sugas quite bland but Change did get no.1 on my personal chart.
February 12, 200817 yr I doubt that, Girls Aloud have very similar qualities to Spice Girls who were massive Woah Woah Woah Wooaahhh!! Spice Girls are in LEAGUES AHEAD of GA (and Sugababes if you think I'm being biased) GA are far from having simular qualities. Edit: The only simularity between the two groups is that there are 5 members, each Spice Girl had and shown loads of personality, neither of these two girl bands have any tbh. February 12, 200817 yr Woah Woah Woah Wooaahhh!! Spice Girls are in LEAGUES AHEAD of GA (and Sugababes if you think I'm being biased) GA are far from having simular qualities. I do think the songs are similar and would be even more if both bands were releasing at their peak at the same time. Plus the gils 'f*** off, im not bothered' attitude is similar but i do agree that SG were a bigger phonomonam.
February 13, 200817 yr I'm not hating here, but when have GA ever had any kind of real attitude? They certainly don't have a f*** off, im not bothered one! If anything Sugababes had more of that up until Three or so. Both bands now are very conservative and the only reason I think you're saying GA posess that attitude is that occasionally they're seen out clubbing and off their faces or something.
February 13, 200817 yr Of course Sarah and Cheryl have attitude  Mutya did before she left _^_ And the only ones in the Spice Girls who had attitude were Geri and Mel B really, so that ain't really a point.
February 13, 200817 yr And the only ones in the Spice Girls who had attitude were Geri and Mel B really, so that ain't really a point. Victoria had personality of being posh  They all had personality from their nicknams, Mel C for being sporty and Emma for being baby and being the cute one  Girls Aloud don't have a name for each of them apart from Sarah and Nicola who seem to be known by everyone I know as the skanks
February 13, 200817 yr Sugababes have had more international success than GA. Not saying that justifies anything, but Sugababes have actually charted here in the US with Hole in the Head.
February 13, 200817 yr Well there's no denying that Sugababes are popular internationally, but the fact that they got a Top 100 hit in US is hardly amazing  I'm sure it didn't get very far.

I believe Girls Aloud's songs and attitude on-stage is very 'im not bothered'.
February 13, 200817 yr Dear me :( Comparing Girls Aloud to the Spice Girls, is like comparing Dannii Minogue to Kylie.
February 13, 200817 yr Dear me :( Comparing Girls Aloud to the Spice Girls, is like comparing Dannii Minogue to Kylie. actually you can compare the latter they're sisters :magic: (and that's about it )
February 14, 200817 yr I watched the 'Shape' video on some music channel yesterday, and it was actually brillant! I can understand how you can be a fan of these Sugababes, they had the charisma and the style, and the music was special but still pop. It's just that the Sugababes of nowadays are nowhere the same as the old ones, the videos seem to be very less inspired, the music is getting random (pop but nothing special) and the girls themselves... very second-rated personalities. Just my point of view of course, but I can't see how a fan of the former band could still love the new band with the same passion... Edited February 14, 200817 yr by Xmas Bertie
February 14, 200817 yr On the contrary, I love them more now. Obviously though that's because 5 years ago I wasn't buying albums and going to tours, lol. But they put out the best pop song of 2007 for me, they released an amazingly solid album - their most solid yet, if also their most commercial - and they just look so good. As for the videos, how could you not love the Denial video? It's everything a fan could want - a thousand costume changes, brilliant effects, some really chic things going on in those 3 minutes. It's fabulous. Plus the band as a whole has much more personality now than it ever did with Mutya. Oddly enough I feel roughly the same about GA as you do for Sugababes! They were experimental with great pop songs like The Show. They still experiment but it's like they've tried to be too classy too soon. Call The Shots got overrated when there's better on the album, and they're about to release their worst single in bloody years. But I still really like them - I'd never have picked up a GA album before 2007, and now I own Tangled Up and think it's great. I just think they should take more risks again which basically means working with someone other than Xenomania. That they have employed the same people to produce every single song of theirs since about four years ago is totally ridiculous!
